Family run gem, beautiful rooms, great service and a breakfast buffet to remember. We will definitely come back as soon as we can. 135.- per night for the junior suite was worth every Euro. Parking on front of the hotel.


Regretting we only booked for one night

Arrived late due to sightseeing and meals but the arrangements were easy to follow to get the keys, be aware the parking is very limited. The rooms were clean and it was good to have coffee and tea making facilities available. The balcony was not worth the extra payment as you could not see the castle from the room. Good power shower!
Great for getting to the castle and surrounding areas - lots to see. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice too!

Great Location for the castle Neuschwanstein.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my two teenage sons as part of our 10 day trip to Bavaria. We arrived by train and wasn’t sure how to get to the hotel as it is not in Fussen itself. We later realised we could have got the bus number 73 or 78 (towards the castles). It’s a 5 minute journey and the bus will drop you on the opposite side of the road to the hotel. If you ask the driver for Kleiner Konig, I’m sure he’ll know it. But it’s just before the bus turns onto the castle road. 
Anyway, not knowing this we rang the advertised taxi number (at the station) and were picked up in 10 minutes. Cost 7 Euros plus 1 Euro for “helping with bags”! 
The hotel is just off a fairly busy road but apart from that it’s a lovely location. Castle Neuschwanstein can be seen from the main road and you are surrounded by mountains and fields. We were checked in quickly and efficiently though I can’t say we received the effusive welcome of which others have spoken. But it was fine for us. Our room was very spacious with a fridge and kettle. There was a table and 3 chairs and a shared balcony. Bathroom was a good size and it was all very clean. There’s a big fridge on the landing outside which houses the mini bar and offers a good selection of cold drinks which was very welcome in such hot weather. No air conditioning in the room so it did get a bit warm at night though both window and door onto the balcony could be left open which created a bit of a breeze. 
Breakfast was good- especially the fruit salads. It didn’t start till 8 which was a bit late for us but they very kindly let us in at 7.30. 
Great location- walk into Füssen in about 20 mins or 5 min bus journey. Lovely walk to the castles (30 mins) or again a bus. There is also a lake called Schwansee about 15 mins walk (on way to castles) You can swim there and it has a small cafe for drinks and ice creams. Very pleasant place to spend a few hours on a hot day. 
Overall a really pleasant stay at Kleiner Konig and one we’d definitely recommend. 

Good hotel in great location 

Superb location for Neuschwanstein castle, lovely walk or short drive. Hotel it's self does everything a hotel should, it was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, lovely breakfast but it was no frills and had very little character inside. Not sure about the suggestive picture above the drinks fridge or the mirror on the ceiling above the bed....and even stranger the carpet on the wooden balcony!! But our host was charming and made us most welcome and you couldn't get a better location with the sound of cow bells tinkling outside. 

Basic, Efficient, Great Host

Don't book this hotel, they could cancel your reservation the last minute. I booked a triple room for two people in booking.com. They did this to us without any apologize or a good explanation! Very rude and unprofessional!

They cancelled our reservation without explanation!

The website where we boooked one night said the check in would be open until 6 pm. We arrived there shortly before five. Nobody was there. Rang the bell, nobody answered. Call some phones indicated on the door, didn't work. Finally got somebody to help us one hour later, by chance.

Nice good looking hotel bit bad attention.
