We drove to Germany and found there was ample free parking at the hotel.  It is also very near Baden Baden airport for those who prefer to fly.  

The owners could not have been more welcoming and friendly and Alfred speaks excellent English.  The breakfast was really nice and fresh.  The beds were large and very comfortable and the rooms spotlessly clean.

The hotel is only a short drive from the motorway and close to Baden Baden and the beautiful Black Forest.  

We really enjoyed our week there.

The hotel is located pretty much downtown of Huegelsheim which is near the airport of Karlsruhe Baden which might be an interesting departure airport if you want to travel to Zadar for example with Ryan Air on a direct flight.There is some other hotels and restaurants around even a Kebap Grill. The Iffezheim Racing season (end of august , beginning of october: big gathering of celebrities...) will leave all hotels in this area booked out! Check the dates onbthe Net! The hotel is a lovely location with a lot of tradition. There is no aircondition or room bar but the lovely owner couple will make your stay special and unforgettable! Most rooms have a little veranda, so you can sit outside if you need to have a smoke or you eant tonenjoy the sunset. The hotel also offers breakfast from 6:30 but they are flexible if you need an earlier bite! A nice and efficient plave to stay!


Traditional home with family type owner couple

This hotel is clean and comfortable with a nice balcony where we could sit and share a bottle of wine.  Walking distance to a great restaurant, the Gruner Baum and to our old hang out, the bar downstairs at Bistro Tiffany.  There is no longer a restaurant at The Schwan, but they still serve a delicious breakfast with a varied selection.  The best part of our stay, was getting to know the owner, Alfred Lips and reminiscing about the 80s when we lived in Germany as teenagers.  Also nice to hear the church bells across the street every day.  We had a great time and will be back!

German Holiday

The hotel waa Booked last minute by my boss so I Arrived early evening midweek. Met on arrival by a very friendly English speaking man on reception. Good Spacious clean room with a balcony overlooking a small courtyard. Perfect to sit out on, on a lovely summer evening. So i did :) . Hotel staff were attentive and extremely helpful. Plentiful and varied breakfast. Coffee refills and extra breakfast items too. Asked for an extra hour before I checked out. No problem at all. This hotel is saved to my favourites !!

The hotel owners were very friendly and more than helpful with advice about the area.  The rooms were immaculately clean with comfortable beds and a lovely balcony to sit out on in the evenings, as well as a nicely groomed park behind the hotel.  The breakfasts were veritable feasts with something for any appetite.

I will definitely stay at this lovely hotel any time I am in the area!!
