If you are a writer, consider applying for a residency at Pfaelzer Hof. It is well-located for easy access to services in Idar-Oberstein, a larger town along the famous Saar-Hunsrueck Steig long-distance hiking route. I stayed in the spacious Bel Etage apartment with my husband, also a writer. There was plenty of room for us to work without crowding each other, and wonderful light spilling through 10 big windows. And there were plenty of opportunities to take inspiring hikes, starting right outside our door or easily accessed by train/bus. This is a great experience for anybody who is interested in working independently, motivated to engage with a diverse community, and excited about an environment rich with both history and natural beauty. Artist in Residency opportunity

After the first stage of our nearby bike tour, we chose this beautiful old house as a neighbourhood. Both the double bed in the main bedroom and the single bed in the extra bedroom were safe to stay in. The kitchen was bright, functional and comfortable. The kitchen was filled with fresh fruit, milk, orange juice, old railway trains. Also soon there were more relaxed and dissolved coffee hands. The view of the streets and restaurants is very bright and airy. We hope to see a few more interesting restaurants and bars in the city, and we hope to see a nice view of the area before you go to the bathroom.

Holiday home with style

Firstly, the local price was later disregarded. 90 euros were agreed for all three people, and in the end we each had to pay 50 euros. On the second day, a bed broke down due to material fatigue. The lady then assumed that I had intentionally broken it down and asked if my company had a good insurance policy. Then unfortunately, after a week of looking for the promised new bed, I had to sleep on the floor with a mattress. In the meantime, the Wi-Fi has also fallen off for a few days. No apologies or anything like that. I will book again in the future via Internet portals.

I can't believe it, never again!

Very good reception, quiet location, decent and good food. In the middle of Oberstein. There was internet, hot water, shower, nice practical microwave kitchen.

Short stay in Oberstein

Exellent and close to center area free parking. A little shop close and bakery with fresh bread. Just walk over the bridge and you are in center of Oberstein with all the jewelry shops and good restaurangs with great food. Danke from Sweden.

Beatiful large furnished apartment

Over 100 years of loving renovation and restoration, especially on the first floor, the house is very generously designed, for example, with a beautiful living room and two comfortable living rooms. The house has an artistically ambitious atmosphere and is internationally oriented. It's a shame we couldn't experience the jazz days anymore. Surprisingly, the city and surroundings offer so much cultural and landscape that you can stay for a week or more.

Highly recommended

I spent a very good night in the Pfälzer Hof. It is an old hotel that has been renovated very well and has a great history. Being one of the first guests, I had the chance to see all the rooms of the courtyard. The rooms are bright and large, decorated with beautiful old-school furniture  very tasteful, also the type of renovation, for example, deliberately looking through the earlier wall in some places so that you can see how it used to be. Large wooden bars run through some rooms on the upper floor, which gives even more style. Shared bathroom - clean and very comfortable. I can completely recommend!!
