Very good. Great location and clean rooms at a reasonable price.. nobody at reception when I arrived but they'd messaged me with clear instructions on how to get my key from the box. I would 100% recommend this hotel if you're visiting Jena.

Great place

My stay in the Hotel Vielharmonie was splendid. The hotel offered excellent rates and is situated slap bang in the center of Jena, just a stone's throw from all the bars and restaurants the city has to offer, yet on a quiet street so there is no noise from the revelers enjoying their evenings. 

.Check in the process was simple, with the hotel staff being extremely polite with excellent English. There was car parking available at a small surcharge which took away the stress of finding overnight parking in the city center. 

The room itself is basic but perfectly acceptable for a couple of nights' stay. Everything was clean and tidy, there was free water provided and the bed was comfy with a decent enough shower. 

I definitely recommend and will be staying again. Danke!

Lovely staff and excellent location

Hotel is in very well looked after and equipped with modern furniture (I particularly liked the radio in the spacious bathroom). I enjoyed the diverse continental breakfast choices and especially appreciated the coffee machine with lots of different coffee options. And finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Vielharmonie.

Very good value for money choice!

My personal top choice in Jena: personalized serviced, new (opened ca. 2010/ 11) and stylish this place is preferable to chains like Ibis and Steigenberger. While double rooms are spacious, single rooms tend to be very smallish ... book a double for single use at a reasonable surcharge (< EUR 10). Breakfast selection not the most varied, but definitely sufficient choice of cheese, cuts, cereal, some fruit, jam, tomato caprese, all varieties of egg and great coffee specialties. 

Also excellent location for sightseeing and business right where it's happening (but quiet at that).

Worth a try - I have not been disappointed during my last 5+ stays

Very good to excellent, out of the ordinary design hotel

What a wonderful hotel! The rooms are amazing - minimalist but with great taste, abosolutly spotless, just what we like. 
Bridget and Thomas the owners made us very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was brilliant, rolls, breads, meats, sausage, cheese’s, fruits and fabulous coffee, a great continental breakfast. Just help yourself!
Central location, warm and inviting and could not do enough to ensure our stay was special, would definitely recommend this hotel for location, friendliness and value for money.

A hidden gem

Very nice hotel. Friendly staff, clean and good location.  Let down by a very slow and unreliable internet connection.  Breakfast is also very good but they have no croissants.
I would stay here every time I was working in Jena if they had a better WiFi and this is the only reason I only rated 4.  With better internet it would definitely be a 5.

Very good apart from wifi

First impressions: the room rates are quite low, the smallish hotel is a newly renovated building, clean, practical, and centrally located in Jena.  I stayed there while attending a conference at the University of Jena, and it was only a couple minutes between the conference site and the hotel, really quite practical to go back to the room to do some work or relax. The rooms are practical, but very dark, not really cozy.  The breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was very nice. The staff is very friendly, but behaves a bit amateurish.  They were quite inflexible when it came to the possibility of late check-out, there is no way to call the hotel after 8 pm (nobody around any more to pick up the phone!), and they are often a little bit helpless. In my room, the shower head holder was broken and nobody made an effort to fix it (before or after my stay).  Shower gel did not get replaced.  Towels and bedding were the same during the entire week, I think.
