Great rustic German traditional food from the area. Very hearty and relatively inexpensive. Great beer garden. Very popular place in the neighborhood and I the summer it can get very crowded. Service is prompt and efficient even if the Restaurant is packed to capacity.

Great German traditional food from Nothern Hesse

We were in the papal anne for the first time, and we were very disappointed. We got a room in the basement that was only partially renovated. Under the nightbox, you could still see remnants of the old floor, the mirror was half-blind. There was only a shower in the serving notebook, it was not refilled after one night. Breakfast was pretty unpleasant, a lot of packed stuff, tea only in the thermos. The reception was no longer occupied after 10 p.m., the room was locked, so we didn't have a WiFi access code.

Never again

We had concerns because of some of the negative reviews, but it was all good. The table reservation for 12 people worked well. The menu is basically well-bourgeois, there is something for everyone. The prices are reasonable and reasonable. The service is completely fine. Although the place was well visited, everything worked well and was on time at the table. The quality of the food was good or satisfactory. The portions should not be so large for my taste, but that is a matter of consideration. I can recommend the place to visitors with normal claims.

We had promised ourselves more because of a commercial. It describes you sitting under an old lime tree. The photo shows a kind of garden, a lot of nature. Well, that's not really the case. There are these old trees, but the whole thing is rather unspectacular and is dominated by a big aluminum roof on Sunday. The whole thing is more like a regular beer garden with a few extra stone wells. Like, not bad, but really nothing special. The service was not unfriendly, but somehow it wasn't very compelling, it was all sort of wasted. It was all right, but it was just fine, it didn't come over, nothing absolutely right. The food (and that's why it's actually being accepted) was basically too good to be eaten, even in a few extra stone wells.

A cozy, small yet comfortable hotel including restaurant. First weekend after COVID-19 relief. We were here in two for one night and the room was clean and tidy. The WiFi was not so good in our room now, but that didn't bother us. Breakfast was lavish. Dinner at the restaurant was highly recommended. For a weekend trip highly recommended, since the mountain park is not far away.

Unfortunately, I can't relate to the previously bad reviews. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was full and we were very satisfied with our food. Extremely friendly and attentive. The price ratio was perfectly fine. Even with dogs at any time.

On the hotel website there are pictures of the very beautiful rooms but we slept in a dirty, old and bad-smelling room....door of the room that crazy fire escape..... the next day we changed we couldn't sleep with that smell.... but another serious thing my brother booked for us a double room with single bed.... we found a surprise 3 single beds....

The disgusting hotel.

Please don't be fooled by the beautifully designed photos on the various booking portals! With luck you will get one of the few (partially) refurbished rooms - but with greater probability one of the desolate, fully occupied remaining rooms! Our bathroom (WC, brake pads and paper remains!!) was not clean, no towels hacked, room smells smooth, curtains dirty, completely drenched, the furniture is partly genuine antique (not antique...) and decorated...etc... Old buildings don't have to be bad - but you can also design and refurbish something more beautiful and appealing no matter the price (!!) We have topped some 4* hotels because of the relatively unflattering quality and price tag... We have not gotten a choice for this hotel... and we have decided to go straight to the hotel... We have not gotten a new room with our website! - We have not gotten anything from the hotel! - We have decided to go ahead with the website! - We have not gotten a new room! - We have not gotten a new one! -

It's disappointing.

The Papen Aenne is one of the most frequented guesthouses in Kassel-Harleshausen. When we visited, the map selected classical dishes. The waiting time was appropriate and the extremely friendly and late service contributed to the shortcoming. In terms of food, this can be described as a good homemade meal, but not unusual. Here the reputation of Pope Aenne is obviously better than it is today.

Classic guest house

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time... ice cream with pickle and potato stew. Ice cream is worn out and tasteless, pickle was more like a boiled sweet mucus and the potato stew is a candy/kitten-like mass. I just can't understand how a cook can send something like that out of the kitchen. I'll never eat there again.
