We stopped here on our way to Poland a very last minute booking on route, what a very lovely place to stay . The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly they spoke English very well. The room was lovely and clean air conditioning which was lovely on such a hot day , bed was comfortable we had a balcony. The location was so quiet. We opted for breakfast and we were very glad we did as it was delicious fresh fruit, bread, cheeses, meats and croissants lots of coffee and we were also given coffee for our journey. Highly recommend this hotel what a find !

What a find ! Highly recommend 👍

Had a sleep over here halfway our trip to The Netherlands. After a certain time reception is closed, so if you arrive late don't forget to call them, they will take care you get the key to your room. Communication with the hotel was in English and correct.

The room looked quite nice at first sight, but there are a few things which maybe could be corrected by the owners:
- typical smell in the room, don't know what it was (maybe the headboard?)
- when we used the bathroom, the ventilator went on and stayed on for a long long time, unabling us to get to sleep.
- the room is so dark at night, when you don't want to wake up your partner (because switching on the lights gives way too much light) and leave it off, you break your leg on the wooden corner of the useless dining chair on your way to the bathroom. It left me 30 minutes with a wet towel on my knee against the pain...

Well, we booked this hotel to have some rest on a trip of 10 hours, but because of the above it did not go as planned.

Location is very quiet, and it was very clean, so if the hotel takes care of these small issues everything should be fine.

Clean room, but unpleasant odor, noisy ventilation.

I do not give excellent ratings that often but Sven runs a great pension type hotel which has the advantage of a great location and for us Brits - tea making facilities! The only real negatives were the facts we did not book to stay longer and Sven did not mention there was beer in the fridge outside our room! The Steinertsee is located within 100m of a lovely small lake which you can walk around in 15 minutes. Although we did not have time to explore properly the adjoining park has endless possibilities for walks, running and wildlife spotting. The hotel is also only a 10 minute walk from a tram stop from which it is only 25 minutes into the city centre. The cost is free as the Visitors card gives you free local public transport too! There are a number of restauraunts within a 15 minute walk including a Chinese and Italian. The hotel itself is undergoing an extension however it did not disturb our stay which happened on a holiday weekend. The newly refurbished room was very clean and spacious, with free bottled water supplied, alongside a kettle and choice of teas (rare in our experience of Germany). Sven also supplies Sky TV which means English films, German Bundesliga football and much more. The breakfast although an additional 7 Euro was one of the best we have experienced in Germany with a good variety to choose from. To top it off was Sven himself who could not have been more helpful - top customer service. We will be back and would strongly recommend to anyone wanting to stay anywhere near Kassel. Nearly forgot - Wi-Fi was free and excellent!

Great stay!

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights. Sven, our host was excellent in guiding us where to eat and what we could see. Breakfast was a typical German breakfast which was great. Rooms were super neat and tidy with very large bathrooms. Highly recommend

Stayed for one night travelling through Europe.
In a good, quiet location just off the motorway, surrounded by countryside, nice walk by the river and lake.
Good room, comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Free water and wifi.
Landlord very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast extra but good quality and worth 7 euros.
Would recommend this hotel and will stay again.


Good Hotel in a great location.

The reception was very friendly (also English spoken). The room was spacious and the bathroom was spotless and looked nice and newly refurbished. There is free bottled water available for guests and the breakfast was varied of average quality. Location wise it was quiet, next to the park, and very convenient as a stopover near Kassel, to visit Kassel or to walk in the nearby woodlands. We would definitely stay here again.
