The Altstadt Hotel & Cafe is located on a fairly quiet plaza in the old part of Koblenz. It was easy to walk down to the Rhine and the Moselle.  Our room  faced the plaza; it was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a very large tub/shower.  We had breakfast in their cafe every morning.  The staff was very pleasant and helpful.  

Great location

The situation is good, but the price might be a little cheaper, the late check-in is positive, the rooms are quite large, but unfortunately not quite so clean, at night, just on the weekend, you hear the party crowd, which didn't bother me, unfortunately, there's no parking at the hotel.

Good location, for one or two spontaneous nights OK.

At the end of our 3 nights trip we were at the Altstadt Hotel. The location in the middle of the pedestrian zone was very friendly, very uncomplicated. All the rooms on the 2nd floor were within walking distance. You can enter the hotel through the entrance to the café, which is almost the ground floor. On arrival, I was not quite sure that the reception desk is the coffee shop's tasting room at the same time. After business, you use the side entrance. The reception was very friendly, very simple. Everything on the 2nd floor was accessible by a straight staircase, which will accommodate a lot of people.

Central, great location - but loud!

A hotel over a cafe in the middle of the old town. The location is great, but also in the middle of many bars and restaurants. Sleeping without earwax is not possible here. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have an elevator and we had to drag the heavy suitcases two floors through a sliding staircase. The rooms are very large, the bathroom is great, everything is somewhat sad, dark and cargly decorated. The café on the ground floor, breakfast is expensive and not included in the price, is much more beautifully decorated. The breakfast is very expensive, but as I said, very expensive. But you can also go in front of Alex's food stalls. There is no parking room up to 15 euros per day. I liked the morning stand, but I also stopped by about 2 o'clock.

Living in the middle of the old city in turmoil

The Hotel is actually a cafe with rooms but is well run, clean and well situated in the middle of the Altstadt. If arriving by car, park first in the underground car park in Josef Gorres Platz, a couple of hundred meters away as you can't drive to drop off bags at hotel. Breakfast is excellent and the service is cheerful and orderly. Staff were co-operative when I had to cancel at short notice some of the days booked.

Simple and Central

I had an avocado loaf with mirror lemon and a big cappuccino. There's also a free cup of water for coffee, which I personally always like. Everything tasted great, you have to try it! The staff is also friendly, not intrusive. You order and pay at the counter, drinks are taken with you, food is brought to the table.

It's delicious.

The hotel is located in the centre of Koblenz. There are no nearby parking facilities. I had asked if there was a bathtub. The answer was yes. But: the stump in the bathtub didn't close. I had a little idea about it and tried to move the corresponding stump screwdriver: without success. The bathroom door slid over the floor. An unpleasant noise, which is particularly disturbing at night. The breakfast offer was very inadequate: no sausage. No loaves. For a slice of bread with marmalade we paid 14 euros in double. This is completely inappropriate. Conclusion: Never again Old Town Hotel Koblenz.

Uncomfortable and too expensive

Great location in the center of the beautiful Jesuit square, very nice staff, small but very thoughtful and tastefully decorated rooms. It is also worth staying in the adjacent cafe, delicious cakes and above all the breadcrumbs are delicious!

That's very nice.

We took breakfast twice here during our stay in Koblenz. The best coffee, croissants and sandwiches we experienced. Pleasant multilingual staff added to the experience. Great location for starting the day.

Marvellous cafe for breakfast

Super location in the heart of the old city centre. Overlooking a picturesque square in a pedestrianised area, a public underground car park nearby. The hotel being in an old building, has no lift, just a spiral staircase and if you are on the top floor with luggage, a good exercise. Our room on the top floor was small, but clean with a decent bathroom.
An all day cafe downstairs overlooking the square does breakfasts and other all day meals and drinks. Would stay again.
