We drove into Koblenz and came across this charming little hotel. Very clean rooms, great food and very helpful owners. There is parking on-site and the overall atmosphere was delightful. Close to many attractions.

last Minute Stop

We arrived here and the staff just looked at us to stay who the hell are you.....we thought we arrived at the wrong place and had to ask if this was the hotel as you enter via the restaurant. 

We tried to negotiate 2nights as we had booked for 4 but the manager would not have a bar of it and insisted we pay all 4 nights.

This Hotel has no lifts

Rooms smell musky and bathrooms smell of mold

Staff are unfriendly 

This place is on the outskirts of town

Best to avoid this place at all costs

If you book and change your mind you are going to loose all your money as this smeems to be the only way this place gets guests to stay

WORST HOTEL IN GERMANY AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Never mind you get what you pay for! This was a disgrace. Holes in bedding. Stains on bedding and smelly. Location could be worse but could not find somewhere to eat and 1 bar. Over the river lovely. Only good thing about this place was leaving in the morning.

sometimes you just have to hold your breath and put up with a situation, while the ground floor restaurant smells pretty good, the upstairs so-called hotel leaves much to be desired. then again for a few euro you get the equivalent of what you pay for. pretty noisy location as the place is situated on a busy curve and across from a bus station, but for a few hours of resting your bones, well, good luck. if the owners were genuinely friendly you could still be content but they are not. I found the owner himself to be a jerk, but that may have been his bad day.

you get what you pay for - or not

We had not read a decent review on this place when we took the risk and booked it as a crashpad on our way through to the Mosel.
Over 4 weeks of travelling up from Italy and through Germany we were dreading the experience.
To our surprise, this old 2 star hotel/ restaurant (filled with the pleasant aromas of Indian cuisine) actually worked out well.
We had asked for top floor so as to avoid anyone 'walking over our grave', so could not complain of a lack of elevator.
The room was airy and clean with decent view up to the nearby Erinbreitstein fortress. Beds were well presented, firm and sizeable even if nowhere in Europe do they 'get' range of pillows.
A good flatscreen TV was provided though wifi reception seemed non existent except for scratchy reception in the restaurant-breakfast room.
Bathroom was also a good size and clean, if dated.
Admittedly, walls were thin and we tended to share others' bathroom noises but only rarely, probably due to top floor position. And the area is quiet,
Breakfast was basic but adequate with no cereal whatsoever but the usual solid arrangement of breads, meats, eggs, fruit and excellent large pot of coffee, all served at table.
Be forewarned, this is a pretty dead area of Koblenz but, if you are a fortress buff, the hotel is almost over the road from the funicular which will sweep you up to the famed Koblenz overview and the gondola across the Deutsches Eck at the picturesque and panoramic confluence of the Rhine and Mosel city-side.

So, despite some indifferent staff attitude, all up  an unexpected surprise.

What had originally started out as a day trip to Koblenz from the Saarland unfortunately became a two-day trip. En route to Koblenz with my daughter (7) I found out that my ex-father-in-law, her Grandad, had died. I did not even know he was ill. Trying to comfort my daughter whilst grieving was no mean feat and there was no way we were in a fit state to travel back to the Saarland . The lovely lady at the Tourist office at the fortress, Festung Ehrenbreitstein, rang Hotel-Restaurant Sessellift which is located under the Sessellift (not the Seilbahn) which comes down from the fortress. The lovely owners, Mr. & Mrs. Singh, heard about our plight and immediately offered us a room for the night. 

The hotel is over an Indian restaurant, so there was the smell of Indian Cuisine upon arrival. This whetted our appetites for a delicious Indian meal later that evening. Though the communal areas could do with a lick of paint, the room was fresh and clean, towels and shower gel on the bed, and, although the room was not (yet) ensuite, we were glad of a comfy bed for the night. The bathroom in the corridor was clean and tidy. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and included rolls and cooked meats, cheeses, jams etc. coffee and orange juice. I would like to publicly thank the Singh family for helping two stranded and emotional travellers. Their kindness was, and is, much appreciated.
