The hotel has an excellent location overlooking  the  forest and a ruined castle. Comfortable rooms with good wi-fi. Substantial breakfast on the terrace  or reading in the garden was an excellent way to start the day. Owners are charming and helpful. This is a place to relax and unwind. There are lots of hiking paths in the locality but if you want to go further afield the train into Trier is hourly and is, a very quick journey into the centre,  so much easier than the car. Evening meals are available most days and are very good. Finally, there are ten charging points for electric cars. An enjoyable relaxing stay.

Excellent location for a peaceful break

This is truly a lovely hotel in a very beautiful location. Set in the countryside about 2 miles from the nearest village. Rooms are clean & rustic, with ensuite. Owners are very friendly & welcoming. Definitely one of my favourite hotels. It has it's own restaurant & bar, & great sun terrace with a stunning view over the valley below, all set in the shadows of the ruins of a medieval castle (sacked by the French). The only drawback is there's no lift.

Yearly we as a mixed group of middle aged motorbikers visit the hotel gor a long weekend. Every time we experience a warm welcome, great hospitality, large clean and well equipped rooms and great fresh prepared food. Scenery is stunning in the middle of the woods. This hotel us highly recommend for all types of visits.

it is a nice walk from the hotel to Trier (about 3 hours) and back by Train

Hotel in the middle of the nature

The new owners of this hotel receive you like VIP guests. Very relaxed, plenty of time to speak about the area, lots of practical information. You really feel welcome here. The rooms are spacious but need a bit of renovation, which will certainly be done during the coming years. Breakfast was excellent and the owners also serve dinners. Eating outside with a nice view and lots of birds to listen to makes it a very relaxing experience. And ....take the train to Trier: easy and convenient.

Top service, friendly owners, nice location

The owners Annetta and Jeroen are fantastic hosts and is most welcoming to all the guests. So friendly and the hotel has a warm, homey feel to it. The surroundings are beautiful with natural settings and lots a walking trails and valley views. Breakfast was included, it was plentiful and the homemade dinner was also fantastic and highly recommended. We had the most wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone.
