We stayed her again the night before our flight out of Munich back home. It is quiet, clean, and convenient to the airport without the high prices of the hotels right near the airport. It is about a 10 minute drive through back roads to the rental car return. We have stayed here several times now and I think we are starting to like it. The restaurant is VERY good and the service is wonderful. We were going to stay two nights but our traveling companions had to get home a day early and so I told the receptionist that we would have to cancel our second night and that I realized it was after the cancellation period and I'd pay for the extra night but they told me that it was okay and that was very nice and professional of them. That made me want to stay here again and I am certain that when we go again next year, we will stay here before we have to fly out of Munich,

This place is starting to grow on me....

We stayed here the night before our flight left out of Munich because it was close to the airport. Had no idea that not only the restaurant but the entire hotel is closed on the weekends. What? Seriously?  We arrived with reservations only to find the door locked and not a soul around. Place was even dark. There was a small note that directed one to find their key in a small green box, use it to open the front door and then proceed to stumble around with the luggage trying to find your room. No one there to give you extra blankets or pillows or anything else you might need. No one. Never before in all my travels have I come across something like this. I can understand if you take a day or two off during the week, but on the weekend for a hotel and restaurant? They must have great business during the week to not have to worry about anyone being there on the weekend. And then, if that wasn't bad enough, there isn't even any literature in the rooms that talk about where the other local restaurants are. I guess the owners of this place figure that you shouldn't eat on the weekend. Not even anyone there you can ask about a place to eat. They claim that there is a restaurant 5 kms away but danged if we could find it.  The room was nice and modern and the bathroom decent. But the large sliding glass window looks right out over the street that is surprising busy at 0300 hrs. The feeble curtain isn't even close enough to block out the headlights or the glaring light that is some where on the building and illuminates the entire room. Breakfast was very simple. Actually, it was probably the most simple one we had and that was odd considering that they have a full restaurant on the premises. Oh, but that's right. It's closed on the weekend. What kind of idiot books a hotel over a weekend? I can imagine that this place is very nice during the week and I wish we could have eaten at the restaurant. But alas, that was not meant to be. Not coming back here, that is for certain.

Great place to stay if flying out the next day, but that's about it.

We stayed on a Saturday night and were surprised to find that the restaurant is closed on Saturday and Sunday. We drove to nearby Freising and finished up having to buy a picnic dinner since all the - acceptable - restaurants were full. Our rooms were in an extension which, considering it is fairly modern, was surprisingly badly soundproofed. Breakfast was fine but not as sumptuous as in other German hotels. Parts of the hotel also seem a bit dilapidated and in need of some TLC.

Good for a one night stay

Obviously is this Hotel more a kind of stay over for a night...but not more.
It is a typical place for the local people to come to the restaurant in the Hotel and eat a typical German heavy dish and take a few beers and chit chat.
The room is quite big and it is most for the big double bed, as bathroom, clean room and a flat TV, free Wifi,  No AC. Big parkingspace. 

On the country side

The location of the Hotel is about 10 mins on the outskirts of Freising by car. It is situated in a very quiet and beautiful part of the country side. It is very quiet and peaceful. The Hotel it's self is very well presented, clean, cosy and lovely. The Breakfast has a varied selection to tend to most peoples tastes. We only ate in the restaurant once and found the selection and the actual food excellent at a very reasonable price. The bed room was very clean tidy plenty of space with the most comfortable bed EVER. The bathroom was very modern and very clean. If you thought that was good enough the staff finished it off by being the most friendly and helpful of people you could ever imagine. Will come back here again.

Fantastic stay at Hotel-Restaurant zum Forst

We used this hotel as stop-over for 1 night on our way to Italy. The hotel is around 5 km from the autobahn. We choose this intentional. So, a plus is the quiet surroundings. The beds were good. We sleep very well. The room and bathroom were very clean and modern. The restaurant was good. The restaurant closes at 21.00, what for travelers can be too early. A minus is that there is no refrigerator in the room. The hotel gives the impression of being a little bit understaffed. At arrival there was no reception and we were helped by a waitress of the restaurant. She did this very friendly, but in reality she had no time for us. The wifi is advertised to be free, but didn't work. So, all in all, a good stop over on our journey to the south. More holiday feeling then a highway-stopover. For a longer stay i have my doubts.
