On our recent Lahnstein trip, we stayed at the Wyndham Garden Koblenz. Right across our hotel, this charming little restaurant became our place to have dinner. It was a charming little country house, filled with hunting trophies in a quiet, cosy atmosphere. Our dinner was good, for a traditional German schnitzel, this is the place! The location was very interesting, since we didn't have to drive back to the hotel after a couple of wines or beers.

We had dinner here and dispite my wife and I like to visit Michelin Star awarded restaurants, the food here is excellent! It's a family business and even grandma is serving the plates :-)  When you visit Germany in wintertime, always go for game meat if you like that! We had a great evening, the venison is simply superb!

Typical German hospitality

The rooms were clean and neat and the setting is quite pleasant with a good breakfast. Just a pity the staff are so unfriendly. We also battled to find it, even with the GPS. There are nice hikes in the area.

Ok Stay

We slept here one night and it was the quiet night we really needed. Although it really didn't look like it was going to be, as downstairs, right below our room, a small accordion orchestra was performing like there was no tomorrow, genuinely adding to the German atmosphere. So we arrived at the breakfast buffet well rested. The buffet was fine, and staff was friendly.

Good sleep

We came here a year ago, great ambiance, good grandma's cooking, saladbar, genuine german cuisine etc. Now 2014: pre-fabricated food: deep-frozen cheap quality french fries, idem for the shnitzels, sauces from 5 liter cans. You can still can eat here as long as your culinary expectations are not way above highway resto's standards
