We stayed here for 5 nights as my husband had to lecture a course being held nearby.  The hotel did really leave a lot to be desired although we cannot fault Niedersachsische Botschaft on their assistance and the cleanliness of the room when we arrived.  

We arrived rather later than originally envisaged because of severe traffic jams, however, the restaurant was able to offer us a meal, albeit with little choice.  Schnitzel!  Having schnitzel without the breadcrumbs was an issue and I ended up with a piece of grilled chicken breast 'schnitzel'!  But they tried.

Breakfast was another issue and it would appear that catering for those with gluten allergies is difficult in some German establishments.  After breakfast on the first morning the manager did come and talk to me about what he could provide for breakfast for me and agreed that he would 'order' some fruit for me.  Which was perfect as that is about all I eat for breakfast anyway.  I also had rice cakes with me, so as there was cheese and jam available, it was sufficient.

While there was supposed to be internet and we were given the password, it did not work at all and this proved to be very frustrating.  It is obviously a hotel mainly used for one night stops when en route elsewhere.  Having said that, the establishment seems to have a 'festsal" and the restaurant has about 16/20 tables.

The bedroom was large, with an equally large bathroom, but with shower stall only.  Water warm and plentiful.  But the room was not cleaned at all or the bed made up, the rubbish emptied during our 5 night stay.  We were, however, given a change of towels during our stay.  There was a small 'communal kitchen' where the overnight guests could make tea/coffee, that is if you happened to have some tea bags/instant coffee, have a drink from the fridge "bar" (the cost of the beer/wind being added to your bill).  However, there was no running water/sink in this tea kitchen, nor cups.

The hotel is situated in the small village of Landesbergen, which does not have much to offer.  It is about 20-30minutes drive from Nienburg.  This is a small, charming town with several restaurants, coffee shops, small museum, walks along the River Weser and many old timber framed houses.
