This was a very quiet and private place to stay while visiting for the Bach Festival this year (June 2017).  Situated next to two parks, the American Embassy and the Police Station, we were assured of a secure and quiet place to stay our 12 days in Leipzig.  We walked to and from the concerts every day and it was great exercise without being too much to do (we are in our 60's).  Mrs. Litman made sure we had everything we needed and cleaned our room and bathroom (clean towels) every morning after we left.  The 8:00-10:00 breakfast (for 10 euro) was always fresh and a large selection, buffet style.  We would recommend this gastehaus to anyone but be forewarned about climbing 4 flights of stairs (about 60 steps in all) from the main floor to the floor with rooms...no elevator.  More good exercise for us!

Friendly, Clean and Affordable!

My husband and I stayed here for one night this past September.  This gastehaus had a good location for walking around Leipzig, and was also located next door to the US Embassy.  The hostess was very friendly and eager to please, and we enjoyed the breakfast that was provided.  The building itself had an interesting history, as it was the former Polish Embassy.  The gastehaus was very tidy, but could use some updating.  
 
One thing to note, is that this building does not have onsite parking and also does not have 24 hour reception.  We arrived a little earlier than the time we specified and the gate was locked, with no answer on the intercom.  Please keep in mind that you may not be able to access the property if you are arriving outside of the time you specified during the reservation process.
 
Overall, our stay was pleasant, but it seemed that this gastehaus could use a little more exposure.  When we checked in, it was apparent that we had the entire building to ourselves.  The thought of spending the night alone in an empty historic building was a little bit creepy, but we discovered that another couple had checked in while we were out for the evening.  The atmosphere could easily be improved if more people would give this gastehaus a chance.  Perhaps if business picked up, updates could be made to bring this historic building back to its former grandeur.
