As an Englishman, the main reason to visit the Gasthaus-Weingut Loersch-Eifel is the view.  Looking at their website you probably think it is somewhere nearby and then when you get there you realise the photo is taken from one of the bedrooms and it is just stunning.

The room itself is fairly basic, just the bed, wardrobe, TV, a table, a couple of chairs in the bedroom and a bathroom with wc, bath, basin and separate shower cubicle. All of them are spotlessly clean. The TV only has German stations but this is Germany. 

Breakfast is typical German fare, cereal, breadrolls, cheese, ham/wurst, eggs, jam etc.

Being high over the river it is very quiet and as evening meal is not provided you have to make alternative arrangements, however there are some places in walking distance and many places to eat during the day.  Tip: a torch may be a good idea as there are no streetlights.

If you like wine, do try theirs.  They are multi prize winners and you can taste why.  Ask for a tasting and they will normally oblige.

When you see the view nothing else matters

Gasthaus-Weingut Loersch-Eifel is a good example of the German countryside charm.  In addition to that the very special thing is the great view from the terrace or from your valley-side rooms to the Mosel river valley.  It is so beautiful that you need a poet to tell.  Also very very particular is that Weingut Loersch-Eifel makes EXCELLENT wines and the you can get a great learning experience with the family with wine tasting.

Weingut Loersch in Leiwen  Germany is a small pension run by family Loersch.The reception was ok. The room wa shuge and was simple but adequate. Very good bed and a lot of space to put your clothes in. A simple tabel and two chairs . One fauteuil. The tv was abominable. This is not wat you can offer for that price. Very big window with a fantastic view. Breathtaking really! Window has screens to shut. We had the groundfloor room Lavender. Next to our room was a great terrace, next to the breakfastroom. The bathroom was very large. Bath and seperate shower. Except for a small piece of soap no toiletteries. Pity. Btw there is no alarmclock next to your bed. Breakfast was tasteful. NEverytable gets a plate with some charcuteries and marmelade. Boiled egg( although we were forgotten first morning) and 2 buns. Plenty of coffee or tea.. Mrs. Loersch gives you tips to go to. We were asked for a winery taste evening. So we did. It was very nice. When we left we had to pay € 10,00 each. It was better when were told before tasting. Very nice wines!!!!!When you arrive in the dark it's a little bit difficult to find. A few parking lots. We payed € 83,00 per night for 2 persons.

What can we say.... this was wonderful! The lady who runs the hotel is an absolute delight. Welcoming and friendly. As are her family. The rooms are spacious and homely. The breakfast is fantastic and the views are to die for.
