The Hotel Raatz is a small hotel. Very clean rooms. Attentive staff. Enough breakfast buffet. We could safely accommodate our bikes in a garage. The rooms were very clean and equipped with TV and WiFi.

Super Hotel / Suitable for a multi-day cycling tour/friendly staff

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The reception was friendly, the room was clean and spacious. We were there one day after the lockdown opened and I have to say everything was perfect. Breakfast was enough and dinner was delicious. Staff very friendly and professional! All in all, a hotel that has come a long way but still makes a good figure!

Good hotel for a weekend, the rooms with a view of the mosque are quite noisy.

The hotel Raatz gives the impression on its website that it is a castle hotel, which is absolutely not. The real castle Lieser is located 100 m next door, is currently being converted into a luxury hotel. The real hotel Raatz is a fairly old simple house. After all, the rooms are quite large, conveniently furnished and clean, have flat screen TV and Wi-Fi. You can safely accommodate your bike in the yard. The staff is friendly, breakfast was fine. On the real level, actually quite ok for a 4-point rating, since the hotel presents itself as a better house, but I only give friendly 3 points.

Attention, not a castle hotel!

First of all, the (castle) Hotel Raatz is NOT located in Castle Raatz (as the image suggests), which belongs to a renowned VDP winery. The hotel is clean but very old-fashioned in the equipment (80s or older) and somewhat accommodated. A service is virtually non-existent: there is no lunch, no room service, no minibar, no refrigerator, nothing. The breakfast buffet is okay; rustic and simple. It was very hot when we were there; the rooms were very heated up; ventilators or air conditioning were not available.

We stayed one night at this hotel, reasonably comfortable, with little luxury, but very clean, spacious rooms with renovated bathroom, nice reception and a busy breakfast, excellent price ratio.

Very friendly and helpful, like putting the wheels in the hotel's garage, nice clean rooms, back to the vineyard, very quiet.

Ideal hotel for a short vacation at the Moselle

I had a large, newly renovated room, but it went to the courtyard, which of course diminished the view. The shower was modern, walkable, and there was a modern folding TV. The walls were a little thin, however, so I could hear my neighbor quickly after he got up. The breakfast buffet is rich and of good quality. The restaurant visit was rather disappointing, however. The food is very expensive and of moderate quality. I had the salmon with lobster sauce, which contained two strands of laughter, but only a little rice. The sauce was taste neutral.

Large, renovated room, restaurant worthy of improvement

Firstly the picture shown is soon to be opened Schloss Lieser 200 metres along the road from Schosshotel Raatz.  We had an apartment in Raatz consisting of living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with double bed.  Overall the apartment was very clean (there is a daily maid service) and overlooked a small courtyard. Being at the rear of the hotel it had no view but it was quiet.  I would agree with other reviewers that it needs modernising, the kitchen would get considerable interest from those interested in late 1970's early 1980's designs as it was immaculate.  The general furnishings were also dated but functional and reasonably comfortable, very much in the 'Bauhaus' style. Unfortunately the mattresses were also showing their age and not very comfortable, and for goodness sake get rid of the plastic mattress covers.
Overall the hotel is well located and presented being on the main riverfront road and 500 metres from the village centre.  We only had breakfasts there and the restaurant was very clean with a table always reserved for the guests, the food and coffee was very good for typical German breakfast fair. The staff are friendly and helpful though only one speaks English well.  There is no wi-fi but we were told it should be there next year, not super-fast like in GB though.
We were staying there for the local village Strassenfest and our regular accommodation was already fully booked. Being frequent travelers to this area, Schlosshotel Raatz was a reasonable fill in.

A basic, clean and relatively comfortable hotel, worth considering.

The Schlosshotel Raatz is not the one shown on these fotos here. That´s the Schloss Lieser. The Schlosshotel is very basic, old fashioned, simple and old furniture in the rooms and the food in the restaurant is below average (heavy, low quality).
The service is very friendly and the breakfast is good.
It says a lot the the management put the famous castle as pic of their hotel here!
