If the term "hotel " is defined as a house that has rooms with bathrooms and serves some kind of breakfast, then this is a "hotel". And if you prefer tiny, old bathrooms with broken parts, worn out carpets, a carelessly prepared breakfast with poor choices, chipped crockery, very instable Wifi, holes in curtains, a receptionist who cannot even (and makes no effort to) tell you which bus to use, try this hotel.

Too many “if’s”

I have booked this hotel for one night and had the most unpleasant experience ever! First I was given a room that I did not book, and when I politely asked the receptionist if I can get the double room which I booked, he took my keys and told me to go elsewhere and look for another hotel! I was treated with no respect, was literally kicked out for no reason and left without accommodation! My anniversary and my weekend was destroyed, only because receptionist did not want to bother, and did not even looked at me while I was talking!

Hotel is definitely overpriced for the value, but the main reason I would not recommend this hotel is impoliteness and terrible customer service - they should respect you as a guest and know how to behave. 

I want to warn other guests and to ask them not to book this hotel and not to support impoliteness, no dignity, and no respect for the money you spend. As the receptionist told me - there are plenty other hotels around, so go ahead, and find another one!

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

We stayed here for two nights in August 2018. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly but... there is only someone on reception from 2pm until 8pm so trying to check in or get any info wasn't straight forward.
Breakfast was decent, usual German meats and cheeses + cereal and yogurt.
There is no outside bar like advertised and there is no cafe like advertised. The only food available was at breakfast.
The wifi doesn't work in the bedrooms which is pretty crazy in 2018
The location was fantastic, right beside the main town and close to the lake.
 On balance I would stay again if it was going to be a short stay, no more than 2 nights.

Average hotel, great location

Stayed in this hotel for two nights and while it is clean with friendly staff it has the appearance of a hotel that is preparing to shut down. The bar and restaurant have closed apart from providing breakfast, which was good for the price. The décor was very dated and in need of a makeover. Our room, which was extra large with a couch, was clean with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was also clean. The Hotel is situated right in the centre of the town in a quiet area, however it is right beside a church which rings its bells early morning. Its central and quiet location makes it a good option for a short break in Lindau.

An average hotel in a great location

We stayed here after looking for a place in Lindau and finding this online.  We liked the location on the island and its relative proximity to parking, along with the awesome water pressure.  However, our room looked very dated; I think if I had visited 30 years earlier it still would have looked exactly the same.  Also, it smelled like moth balls.  Other than that, when we went to check out, we discovered that the breakfast wasn't free.  When we booked, the site, Booking.com, said this place had a free breakfast, but we had to pay about €4/per person for it.  So I felt lied to.  The breakfast was fine, about what I'd expected, a small buffet with bread, meats, cheeses and cereal.  The place was ok, but if I needed a room in Lindau again, id probably look elsewhere.

Average hotel with good location

Great location in the center of Lindau Island, easy entry due to restaurant service friendly service and great recommendations, also at the breakfast service. Breakfast was limited, not too much selection of fried eggs but enough to start the day. rooms have been okay typical Gasthof style, old Bavarian Swabia Gasthof with a restaurant for quick dinner local style, just a little bit old and country side! Wifi was good and free just breakfast I needed to add for 4,50€, long time Parking for a day cost 7 € outside the Island in walking distance. Great Island to explore the shops and cafes all in walking distance.
