Although the hotel is looking very nice, there is a good breakfast, has free although limited parking and a decent restaurant, there were a few things which made our stay less then relaxing.

We had a standard room, which is facing the railtrack. And there are trains running close to all night long, making it impossible to leave your window open at night for some fresh air. Which is something you like as there is no airconditiong in the room. 

Next to that, we found our room not to be clean: we found hairs on the carpet when we first entered the room, next to a lot of dust on the mirror. What a pity!


Missed opportunity

One of the most enjoyable hotels of my week

V popular bars and restaurant with the locals, very relaxed aged hotel .
Nice service.good food at v reasonable prices. Would stay again when passing
About a mile from Remagen bridge heads
The town of Linz is a short walk with quaint houses and bars. A really good stopping place.

A one night stay

My husband & I stayed here on Sun the 16th Aug. thanks to Tripadvisor!  Beautiful elegant room & soundproof, but if I may suggest (as there is no aircon)  that perhaps a free standing fan could be made available to those who may require one.   Apart from that, the location is superb, the food exceptional & the service excellent.  We ordered an antipasti starter which was served by the handsome chef, & this was washed down by a superb Reisling whilst watching the river boats pass by!!    This was the best antipasti we have had in years, so well done!!  I would say also for all you bikers out there......this would be an excellent stop off point as the boats depart directly outside the building & there is a Harley owner on site.  ...  Our "Top Award" goes to Christian, love this guy!  Nothing was too hard for him plus he was constantly smiling.  Would we return??    Definitely!!!!!

A little piece of Heaven

We arrived just late and the owners couple was about to leave. Nevertheless, we got perfect service and booked a room overlooking the river Rhein. We had a wonderful evening, perfect dinner and drank our last wine in the bath in the tower, part of our room. 
A better start of our holiday was not possible. 

Next morning breakfast was good, complete and friendly served. Next time we will be back to visit the environment, enjoy the local wine and relax. That is what they do here: deliver a wonderful experience.

Beautiful view and friendly people

One night stay, booked by my wife's cousin who lives in Frankfurt and has stayed here. Very friendly and efficient check- in by Kate (who had just spent a year in Australia). Showed us to our room and it was WOW! at entry, fantastic view right on the Rhine, bath in 'bay window' from which we could watch the constant traffic on the river and the views across it. Sekt, strawberries and chocolates delivered to room. Reserved, named parking spot on arrival was a nice touch.

Nice sitting area continuing gold and black decorating theme. Double shower room and separate bathroom. Bed and pillows good, all TV in German. Restaurant run separately but breakfast booked and paid for at check-in, only €6.60 was fantastic. Also had dinner there, only ordered mains and only managed to get thru mixed meat dish, including very tender steak.

Would certainly return, river view essential as train line does run on opposite side of hotel. One of our best experiences yet in Germany/France.

Golden Rhine suite

the hotel itself is very nice and a short walk to the old town.  If arriving by train, the hotel is hard to get to, even though it is close by.  You have to know where the underpass on the highway is.  We had a room that faced the train tracks which were only 100-200 feet away.  Every 5 minutes when a train went by at 100 miles an hour, it was really loud.  Ear plugs are mandatory for sleeping. the restaurant in the hotel looked very nice, but we were there on a day when it was closed.
