(+) The hotel has strategically good location next to the bridge connecting mainland and Usedom. Easy parking. Good option for intermediate stop on the way to island. Extravagant building is a former old harbor storage house with massive beams and plenty of wooden elements in the interior. Rooms are clean and cosy. Rustic restaurant direct in house. Good breakfast. Free WiFi. Friendly personal. Value for money.
(-) not recommended for people with limited mobility.


Extravagant hotel on the road to Usedom island

We've stayed for a week in a double-room on the second floor: we've got a more cool one to the backside, cause we've been there in summer and there's no A/C available in the rooms. Fortunately ours did have four windows and we got fly-screens in there - together with the help of a big fan we did have bearable temperatures at night.

The house is very quiet - only it can be a bit louder at night with the windows open cause of some traffic in the back road.

Everything has been in an excellent and clean condition - also the bathroom and the very nice XXL-shower-cabin (see pictures!) - what we missed was a bright light over the sink.

Keep in mind that there's no elevator available cause it's an historic building - so this guesthouse isn't suitable for people with walking disabilities.

Breakfast has been rich, very tasty and of good quality to a more than moderate price.

Very nice ambience and very friendly and helpful staff - new female manager included.;-)

The parking lot at the back is free of charge, as is the wifi.
We've enjoyed our stay very much and can recommend this guesthouse absolutely.

Great stay - super-friendly and helpful staff

Excellent hotel in small old town just outside Usedom. (Tiny) railway station at 300m. Rooms with much wood and very quiet, so very good to relax. The restaurant is fine too. This seems to be the place for eating out in Wolgast. I had a special wish for something not on the menu, and I was kindly helped. And the dish was served! Very beautiful breakfast room on 1st floor. Staff was very friendly and helpful. So yes, I recommend this place!

Pleasant evening and night just outside Usedom

This hotel is build in a old building. Very nice. Rooms are clean and good size. Restaurant has a excellent menu and food. Location is perfect. Staff very helpfull. Outdoor parking behind the hotel. Highly recommend if you are in the area.  

Stayed there only for one night.

Lovely place

Dear Speicher is a pension that has a restaurant that serves excellent food.
Look for the special of the day. Today's was flounder (2) with a high quality bratkartofflen and 3 salads e10.50.
There was also a choice of beers and the ice cream looked good as well.
Interesting furniture go and take a look.

There are lots of old buildings in earlier DDR converted to hotels.
Der Speicher is a good example of a successful operation. It's made simple, no overdoing nostalgica, keeping comfort on a high level. With only 7 rooms, absence of elevator is of no significance. The one-man-staff in the evening of our arrival is great, serving dinner later in the cosy restaurant, fish obviously is their speciality.
The breakfast premises on first floor is really great!
Access by car, and parking is very good, and the old warehouse is situated in the center of a
small, idyllic German seaport town. The bridge, connecting the town with Insel Usedom, is  3 min walk away, and a technical miracle!
