We were here in Mannheim at the Veterama. A lovely little hotel, so neatly decorated and friendly staff. You feel at home right away. Shoes, clean rooms. To receive water and good candy. Low decorated and very hygienic. The splendid flooring as in the Grand Hotel. Simply everything arranged with so much love. There was no open wish that wasn't fulfilled. We were so happy that we booked right for the narcest year. There are many nice and nice restaurants where you can easily enjoy the evening. The streetcar is almost in front of the gate and with very little effort you can get to the museum, the market and the city. Right next to the train station. They are quiet and the night is only convenient******.

Good stays

Owner-run hotels are just better! Everything is very personal, individual wishes are taken care of and you really feel like a guest. The rooms are rather small, but super clean and the breakfast leaves no wishes open. A lovingly designed small courtyard invites you to stay - there also breakfast is brought to the table. A small place in the middle of the city.

Small, finely chopped

If you are looking for a streamlined, standardised chain hotel, you will be disappointed here. If you value the hospitality and personal service of an owner-managed establishment, you are right here. A special feature is the princely breakfast, which is prepared and served at the table by choice. Moreover, everything is easily accessible: car park, train station, city centre - the location is perfect!

The good old days...

This little  early 20th century family owned hotel is squashed between two modern buildings, really close to the main railway station. Lovely owner and staff, so much nicer than an impersonal chain hotel. Room (17) was clean, quiet, warm. WiFi a little wobbly but OK. Great breakfast - again personally cooked.  If there had been coffee making in the room  it would have been perfect. Incredible value and 5 stars anyway. 

Lovely Family Owned Hotel

Nice, cozy, family hotel. Excellent location, near the Mannheim center, the Water Tower and the Bahnhof /Main train station/. Clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Polite and kind attitude. Wonderful place.

Wonderful place

I stayed with my wife for two days in this small but very fine hotel. The hotel has a special ambience. Everything is lovingly designed, very quiet and super clean. At the reception you will be greeted with a nice smile. You feel very comfortable right away. After I have been to many large hotels, I had forgotten that there is such a thing at all.

If you don't like to stay in chain hotels, this is a lovely place! Friendly, flexible, simple, charming ambience a bit like at Mommy's/Grandmother's house, large quiet rooms, everything super clean and well-kept - well thought-out - and of course not to forget: the delicious breakfast! And 3 minutes from Hbf.

A lot of charm

Here for 3 nights with a friend to visit our daughters who are spending summer working in Mannheim. Really special small family run hotel only minutes from the train & bus station.  Attention to detail is amazing, the place throughout is spotless and the bedrooms have everything you need. Breakfast was delicious. Family running the hotel couldn’t have been nicer. Rare in this day and age to find somewhere so homely and welcoming. Hopefully will get to return someday.

Very special place

Hotel chosen given to its proximity to the main train station in Mannheim. It's very well located (only 1 block away from bahnhof), and also close to the main shopping streets.
Very nice and polite people running it, all spotless and cozy and nice. As pointed out by others, breakfast is amazing.
Only problem, but one that they clearly state on their website, is the lack of lift. However, what might surprise some people is that some rooms are on the 4th floor (like ours), so any luggage other than backpacks will be a huge pain to carry up the curving stairs. Be aware of this, and try to book a room on 1st or 2nd floors.

Cozy family-run hotel close to Mannheim Hbf

In addition to a business appointment, we went for a little shopping and visited the great winter lights at Luisenpark, and we went to the hotel to see the turf stalls, a nice room, a good breakfast, and two super-natural older sisters who run the hotel.
