The first impression is that the simple facilities and simple gas chambers are misleading. The food was excellent and the portions were very large and the price for the region is totally fine.

Lunch

We entered spontaneously in. Surprised on Friday evening nobody else beside the staff. The light has been switched on in the dinning area, when we arrived.
The atmosphere is described in a good manner as „traditional“.
The food was home-style, typical for this area. The menu itself represents a good range of different food. One page contains different styles of schnitzel.
The staff was friendly, could be more attentive- especially when there are no other guests. Or maybe it was that just because there were no other guests.
What I found , a running tv was inadequate. The screen wasn’t visible but the noise was noticeable. I’d prefer some music in the background for eating.
The price level was good, hard to find something in this range somewhere and as close as to the lake.
The taste of the food didn’t met what we like. But this is just taste, means for us that we won’t return.


Good service

It's not easy to be fooled by the very simple atmosphere here. The premises look sober and simple, but the food is excellent and comes in plenty of portions. The choice is varied and the prices are rather moderate for this region. The staff is very friendly. Special recommendation: the cutting board.

Classical country hostel

The hostess is often unfriendly/communicationally sloppy. Mold in the shower and on the bathroom walls!!! Floor coverage is old. Traffic noise because the boarding house is right on the street. Breakfast was okay. We wouldn't stay there again and I wouldn't recommend it.

Get off!

We were able to get along with the owner, even though we didn't speak German, and we were very hospitable and smiled. The room was very spacious, but it needed some refreshment. The carpet is no longer relevant and above all it is a microbe trap, bathroom to be lit up because it is very dark. The price of breakfast is included in the booking price (which is rare these days) it is varied and very good.

A little refreshment.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Rebstock hostel in Stetten.A nice stay.We got a completely newly renovated room.The booking included half board.The first night you can choose dishes free of charge.On New Year's Eve, warm buffet.Everything was very delicious.Even breakfast was perfectly fine.Everything was very friendly.After Meersburg about 5 minutes by car.Glad again!

New Year's Eve

Yet again I arrive with no reservation.  Stupidly I’d pitched up in the Bodensee area of a nice Friday night & suddenly wondered why I couldn’t find a room anywhere.  Had my head not been addled by travelling so far so fast, it would have hit me sooner.  As it was I looked in vain at many places to the lake side of the main road, all of which had no rooms anywhere I searched.

It didn’t actually take too long for the penny to drop & I decided to look on the opposite side of the 31.  It was extremely hot & threatening serious thunder, time was marching on, I was hungry & not a little tired having driven from San Bernardino in Switzerland by way of the Stelvio Pass all the way here, so when I turned onto the Ravensburg road & almost immediately saw the Rebstock with little green signs advertising rooms available, I was ‘in like Flynn’ to coin a phrase.

To be honest I’d have taken the room almost no matter what the conditions were.  Fortunately it wasn’t somewhere I felt the least bit disappointed.  It’s obvious from the outside what type of establishment it is, & it’s typical of its sort.  It’s clean, the rooms are a reasonable size for the price, everything about it is reasonable & good.  

Except the food – that’s brilliant!  It’s not mediocre, it’s great.  Again, it’s typical of this sort of establishment, but it’s as good as I’ve eaten anywhere else, & I’ve tried a lot of this type of food over the years.  

All in all it’s unremarkable, but it’s honest clean reliable & what you see is what you get.  A previous reviewer mentioned that rooms at the front are a bit noisy.  YES!!  What do you expect?  It’s on a main road for heaven’s sake.  The road that Friday night wasn’t too busy & once I’d remembered to shut the Velux window to keep the deluge of rain out, it wasn’t so noisy anyway.

I’d thoroughly recommend Gasthof Rebstock.  Considering its proximity to the lake, it’s a steal.

Cheaper Bodensee accommodation

We've been traveling a lot and staying in cheap hotels and boarding houses and inns and I have to say Ola la! It was great! On arrival we were greeted kindly and kindly and got a room we wanted, which is called a bed without legs. My first impression when I entered the room was, WAU, bright, quiet, nice bathroom, but the best thing is a super bed with no mattress yet, I slept there like God in France, which is not standard and what I've already experienced. It was clean and clean, and although we've had room 6 on Main Street since then, it's quiet.

We stayed in September with our 5-month-old daughter.It's like going back to the 80s, it looks like they haven't touched anything since then. Fair cleaning and breakfast are scarce and without much variety.The owners don't speak English but they were nice.It's right by the road.It's also a restaurant, smells a lot of food.We wouldn't repeat.

Hotel a reformar

I've been going south for a few years as part of our motorcycle tours to the Rebstock Hotel in Stetten near Meersburg. It's not a luxury hotel, but until now I've always been satisfied! The rooms are ok, the food tastes good, the guests are always very nice and friendly, the regular guests too. It's really familiar. The motorcycles can be parked behind the house, where they're protected from unpleasant looks. Here you can find a little beer hard. In nice weather you can sit comfortably by a glass of beer or wine. Until you get to Meersburg it's just a short drive. The whole thing is still cheap. So what?! I have no reason to complain anymore!
