The rooms are very beautiful and well equipped, the staff are very friendly and competent. The breakfast leaves no wishes open. The chef works with skill and love what you see and taste. It was a beautiful day, we'll be back.

Very nice hotel, great service

Very nicely renovated hotel, tastefully furnished clean rooms; very good breakfast with appropriate selection; in the restaurant we had an excellent meal in the beautiful beer garden for two evenings; service (a lady from the Czech Republic) very attentive, motivated, discreet and fast - you rarely find! We like to come back! The only disadvantage is the location on a busy road (we don't mind, but whoever is used to quietness might be too loud).

Nice short trip to Lower Bavaria

Hotel in the traditional German style, lots of wood and wooden paneling.  The reception had been modernized and is clean.  There is parking at the front and back of the hotel for free.

In the evening I stayed in and had dinner in the hotel restaurant as it was raining.  It was very busy so the poor waitress (only one) dress in traditional dress was a bit slow (as everyone stayed in due to rain).

I selected the traditional soup and main and to my surprise was very good, great taste and texture.

The hotel is close to Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rooms at the front has view of the castle.

Nice hotel, but on the main road in the village so has some traffic noise.

I've been here for two days...all the best! The reception was friendly and very smooth. Nice rooms! Very comfortable beds! Small but very good food menu! Fast internet! I'd love to go back! Free parking right by the house.

A good business stay

The Hotel à la Poste is a rather family run hotel in Mengkofen. The rooms are clean and pleasant in size. The interior, a mixture of mud and something old, but the room layout is well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean, there is no possibility of complete darkening. Small spots of beauty, such as mold in the bathtub vents, can be avoided. Unfortunately, the rooms are very bright and passing guests on the hallway are easily perceived in the room. A nicely decorated breakfast buffet offers a good start to the day. Overall, a simple hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff.

Family run hotel

I'm going to book for my next party, and the kitchen is by far the best I've ever had the guts to experience.

Absolutely top class

Unfortunately, there was no time for sauna, etc., but good food, beer and wine were enjoyed. The hotel is very personal and you make a lot of effort for the guests. In warm weather, you sit on the terrace very comfortably. There are plenty of parking spaces, but the Internet is very slow. If you have to do something nearby, it's worth staying overnight.

Nice hotel in Bavaria

I was at the hotel with my wife and friends at the post office in Mengkofen. We also stayed overnight. Our friends' tips on the hotel, especially the restaurant, can only be given in full. The dinner was started with a greeting from the house (Jacob's Muschel). The wine recommendation for all walks was personally from the head of the house and was absolutely perfect. I had pepper spray soup with a shrimp (perfect), a second course of duck (perfectly, pink fried and with crunchy skin) on tomato rolls and blueberries, and to conclude, a self-guided Himalayan ice cream with perfected parsley and a chocolate cake (tip). This is, in our opinion, a secret restaurant in this region and we can only recommend it further.
