Warm welcome and big plates of food. Soup for starters (great flavours, would have preferred it hot, but wasn’t a big deal). For my main I had a dish that came from the surrounding woods (venison with foraged mushrooms with noodles). Was divine. Three of us all enjoyed 3 courses. 

Ranger plate 

We were eating at the restaurant. Four different dishes and four times full of praise. The steaks were on point. The sperm wrench was firm and yet fluffy. I. Tolles praised especially Camilla, who served us. She was very friendly and kind and also very attentive.

Very friendly service and very good food

The restaurant offers a rich menu, including seasonal offers. However, some are not fresh from the stove, but at best warm. TK merchandise has also snapped in. But everything is very solid. The breakfast buffet could score with a varied offer. Even vegans would have gotten fed up. Unnecessarily small we felt that mirror dishes were charged at 3.50€/piece, although there was no stirring on Sunday. The staff was very friendly and pleasant throughout. We felt very comfortable.

Clean and solid with air up when eating

After a long walk, I visited the restaurant. It was 14:30/15:00, but the hot kitchen was no problem. Snitch with potatoes: very good french fries and one of the two snitches was good, but the other was camel meat  cold chain interrupted or whatever, you shouldn't serve it. Wild ragout: deer and wild boar in plenty of sauce and potato sauce: delicious! Sour sauce matched the delicate meat wonderfully.

Good and bad food at high prices

We spent three nights here, but at the beginning we changed rooms. We had one in cultivation, and it seemed like a new apartment building. The other room in the main building was smaller, but it was also nicer. The breakfast buffet was fine. A small selection of cereal. Unfortunately, no chicken. But the buns were grotto bad, even though it was supposed to be fresh from the goat. We didn't use the hotel restaurant.

We were there for dinner. Since your kitchen is everywhere at 8:00, that was our last hope and we were not disappointed. Kitchen closed at 8:30. We were still allowed to order. The staff were very kind and hospitable. Nobody was upset because we came so late and the food came quickly and was very delicious. Perfect after a long day of hiking.

It's a great restaurant.

We had chosen the hotel because it is located right in the Kirnitzshtal and we had an ideal and short access to the many walking routes. The staff were always friendly and hospitable, they felt well taken care of. There was also a great and varied breakfast buffet. We can only complain about the occasional smell (gulli/waste water?) from the left side of the building, which unfortunately moved into the room with the windows open. Otherwise, I have a clear recommendation here!

It's a great location.

We ate red cabbage and potato chips, plus trout with potatoes. The first meal was not served. For a three-star hotel, you'd like to serve the food in shells, like red cabbage in a shell, so it's in a saucier. Instead, everything came together on a normal plate. The deer was a little too dry. Not enough sauce and the red cabbage was too acidic. In general, everything was sober in taste. The trout was very soothing. Excessive. The skin was sour, like cooked. It could have been crunchy. For $16.90 you could almost spend it quietly on a little salad. I had eaten wild rice. I had to go to all the restaurants, so I don't know anything else about this salad. I'm sure we wouldn't have to go to this restaurant.

Food is not up to the hotel level

Actually, it's a great location right in the valley. We were looking forward to the holidays, but then unfortunately we got very upset. The food is all right, but much too little. The rooms we had were super small and only so moderately comfortable. It wouldn't be so bad if the boss and his basic attitude towards the guests weren't incredibly unfriendly. We felt like we were bothering. The forest house had only been open for three days after the lockdown. My husband wanted to sit down at night to work on the computer a little bit more, and after five minutes he was upstairs because they asked him unpleasantly to remove himself. At the time you weren't allowed to take too much in the morning, Corona gave the boss the bread, personally. It felt like we weren't coming out of this hotel again.

Very friendly atmosphere with pleasant hospitality from all the hotel staff. Recommended for a quiet and central starting point in Saxon Switzerland with hiking routes and traditional tramway right in front of the door. Physical well-being is generally ensured, hygiene concepts are implemented even during times of extreme stress, so that the stay is safe and pleasant. Our room was very clean, quiet and with beautiful views of nature. Since the whole valley has only poor mobile reception, there is free WiFi for urgent access. Whoever does not want to enjoy the nature, can comfortably drive from Schandau by train to Dresden.
