I have been robbed from this  hotel!!   Due to my flight  cancelation, I had to book a room for one night . I booked a room in Gasthof via booking.Com. Five  minutes later, I had to cancel it because I discovered that I needed to get to a hotel that is closer to the airport . I called the manager of Gasthof twice and sent 3 emails,  booking.com also called him, and even my visa card agent contacted him, but he refused to issue a refund !!
That's very unprofessional!!  I paid the full price for something I didn't use .

Very bad experience with this hotel

Found this place purely by accident. Went for a walk and discovered this gem in a quiet little village. We had dinner here on our last night in Germany. Delicious home style food and very fresh. Service was great as well. We will be back!

Excellent!

There were a number of good reviews but we were not happy here. It was a rainy day so no beer garden and could not even get a beer when we arrived. Place was dark and dreary. The room had a comfy bed but not remodeled. Breakfast was okay (good eggs). Too much money and a disappointment.

Found this depressing

We had an excellent experience here last year so booked a room again for the night before our return flight  to the US. The hotel fronts on a busy street but directly behind it is a church and walking paths. Just down the street is a great Italian restaurant and the best part of all is you will  still feel  on vacation. If you have a rental car,  there is a small gas station just across the street. Our room is a nice size and we have a lovely view of the old biergarten and buckeye trees. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for a location close to the airport with all the amenities you might need. We have stayed at the Moxy and other nearby trendy hotels, but prefer being here, where we still feel we are in rural Deutschland.

Back again! Great Munich Airport Hotel

Had a day layover and went here for dinner. This is one of the only selections, along with an italian restaurant, to eat nearby. Limited menu, but everything was classic and well executed. Dect beer selection and outside beer garden with shade. Service was adequate and would go back.

Nice evening

While staying at an airport hotel, I wanted to find a local, non-chain restaurant.  Hotel Gasthof Alte Poste fits the bill.  Just a short  ride from the airport, it’s plain, traditional and welcoming place.  The menu is handwritten in German and our server kindly translated.  The food was fresh and well-prepared. The mixed salad was very good, followed by veal schnitzel and potatoes.  Wine choices are quite limited but good.  Local beer is probably a better choice.  Will make a return visit.  

 Good Bavarian Cuisine

If you’re landing at the Munich airport, Hotel Gasthof Alte Post will not disappoint. It is extremely quiet and the adjacent neighbourhood is a peaceful place to go for a run, walk or stroll. I was shocked at how quiet a hotel this close to the airport could be. The food at the restaurant is all homemade and staff are dressed in traditional German attire - outstanding. The waitresses that served us were so sweet and friendly and spoke excellent English with a lovely German accent throughout. I can’t wait to go back. 

Typical Bavarian Gasthof. Good food, but not over average. Prices for the rooms to high for the quality you get. Team was sympatic and fast Service. Parking as well behind the Building ok. For one Night ok, to recommend. 

We stayed at the Alte Post, a quaint hotel in Schwaig.  What a great find.  The hotel is impeccably clean.  Rooms were of good size.  Rooms were also very quiet despite being on a busy street.  Bathroom towels were the best ever.  Restaurant had first rate Bavarian food.  Staff were friendly and helpful.  They spoke German first but when our poor Deutsch was exhausted the spoke clear English.  I would stay again anytime

A great stay

Here you can find a nice typical bavarian restaurant and butchery. The employees are very kind. Regarding the hotel facilities everything is unsatisfactory: the rooms and bathrooms are small; the decor is to old (ok is a country side hotel, but they need to refresh the furniture and environment!); the beds and pillows are not comfortable; etc... At the end the bill is to high for a old country side hotel (and far way from Munich and Alps)
