The most lovely boutique hotel  with gracious staff who went out of their way to make my stay special.  The room was chic with cool  artsy decor and old world charm that looked out on a lovely courtyard.   Extremely comfortable bed ( perfect firmness), warm duvet, high quality bed linens, beautiful bath.  Excellent breakfast!  I did not want to leave. Stay here!   It is perfect!!!!!!!

Perfect boutique hotel in perfect location

a family member was supposed to stay at this hotel but had to cancel last minute, due to the sudden passing of the father.
After kindly contacting the hotel manager to find the solution, i was neither offered a (partial)refund nor any kind of understanding and kind refusal (which would’ve been ok). Instead, met with the managers extremely rude attitude, discrimination, accusations that i have made the story up and conspiricy theories about me being part of AI-World.
The main argument of the hotel was that booking “so cheaply at their “premium” accommodation” (which clearly does not meet any standards whatsoever) for 180EUR a night, I should not expect any understanding from the hotel and should contact booking com only.
As a foreign national, i am not allowed to come into the managers country, Germany, and tell her how to live - was another highlight of my discussion with the CEO/manager of hotel Olympic.
at the end, got offered a 50EUR by the lady, while listening to arrogant accusations that my story is false. The reason for the offer was apparently a sudden “good person” willing to stay at the hotel.
She then explained to me, that she only puts “good” people at her hotel and I am not that. Would’ve loved to hear the criteria’s for being “good” in the Bavarian terms. (We all probably know the answer:)

My family was and is ready to provide all the necessary documents to prove the story. Me and the intended guest of hotel olympic are Level Genius 3 Guests on booking.com.

Worst customer service ever

We absolutely love the Hotel Olympic! From the art-gallery/lobby to the wonderful guest rooms to the elegant breakfast room, you will be thrilled!  We have stayed here on three separate trips and continue to be impressed by the hospitality and all that the hotel offers. The location is terrific, too, a short walk to a streetcar stop or only a bit longer to get to the city center. Hans-Sachs-Strasse itself is a gift, variety of dining options as well as shops for browsing/buying. We are happy to recommend this gem of a hotel! 

Absolutely terrific

The hotel was a very good last minute reservation. The rooms was quite clean and decent size for a European hotel. Has a lot of movie star theme to it and lots of art around the hotel. The front desk receptionist was very helpful and very informative about the area, nearby, restaurants, and the history of the hotel. Nice touch for last minute visitors. Overall, 4 1/2 stars out of five.

Nice, clean and interesting stay in Munich

We spent two nights at the Hotel Olympic which is located in a lovely neighborhood just outside Munich city limits. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the Marienplatz. There is local shopping and good restaurants just a few meters away and if you are fortunate to meet Andreas at the front desk he will enthusiastically point you in the direction of your interests. The breakfast room and the food served (young Oscar was a gem) was great. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Munich!

Wonderful  staff, lovely rooms and great location

We returned to Hotel Olympic after 2 years, and were welcomed back as if we had been there forever.  Large, comfortable room. Well-appointed. It's like living in an art gallery (with different pieces than our last trip). Breakfast was well-stocked, and fresh choices. Location wise, short walk to streetcars, lots of shops and restaurants on same street. We will certainly return!

Perfect place to stay during the business trip. It is very clean, silent place to stay. I really enjoyed many paintings and whole interrior overthere. I have visited hotel during the April. It was nice to wake up and hear birds on the inside garden. The stuff superb friendly and helpful. The only thing I have missed there is scrambled eggs :))) Definitelly would like to come back there!

Great place to stay

You're paying for the location with this hotel. Situated in the Gartnerplatz, it's a nice area filled with restaurants and bars. Sadly the Hotel Olympic doesn't live up to the expense. With breakfast included in the room fare, I expected a decent variety of food like a choice of eggs, different types of bread and even a few German Sausages for those who wanted something more hearty. Sadly the selection consisted of little more than croissants that tasted as if they were just out of a packet, a few kinds of cereal that weren't delicious, fruit, toasted brown bread and a hard-boiled egg. Those looking for something a little substantial for breakfast should look elsewhere.

As for the room? It was okay, a basic enough amenity—the leaking of water from the shower onto the bathroom floor aside and the slightly hard mattress on the bed were issues. There was a large smart TV in the room, but I would have preferred a more comfortable bed.

Lastly, my central reservation (pun intended) was with one staff member. You have to tap your key against a reader and twist the door handle to get in to enter the hotel. Sounds simple right? When you have a few Dunkels, and you're a bit of a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, you're not exactly thinking cohesively. The woman working at the front desk got upset when I struggled to do this task and raised her voice. As someone who works in a customer service role myself, empathy helps here, especially when the customer is clearly tired or not thinking straight. The fact that I was getting told off condescendingly for not being able to open the door properly is pretty dire customer service. When you're paying 500 euros for four nights, you expect service with a smile which this woman most definitely did not have. The next day a soberer me tried to open the door with the key and still had the same issue, so maybe the door system is at fault.

Overall, the interesting art choices were the only things I appreciated about the hotel, and I'll give it an extra star just for that. It isn't every day you see a statue of a naked woman in a hotel lobby.

Pricey for what you get and poor service

We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Olympic in December 2019. It is a small, cozy, bed and breakfast with the most excellent and friendly staff! Our stay was made extra special by Andreas (at the front desk). Andreas was extremely welcoming, and told us all about the wonderful neighborhood...including a recommendation of a walking tour. He was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and kind. The hotel has an art exhibit throughout that they change every month or two. The room we were in was beautiful, with a balcony into the courtyard, it was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Breakfast was wonderful with local, organic foods, and Andreas explained to us what everything was and where it had been procured. He also came around, personally, to make sure we were happy and brought us fresh pretzels...this was after he escorted us to the beautiful table with a couch and window into the courtyard. The location was perfect for walking to the Viktualienmarkt and to Marienplatz as well as other central old town sites. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Munich.

Absolutely wonderful Hotel!

Everything about this hotel was excellent: hotel staff, breakfast, the breakfast room, the bedrooms (all different styles but all simply elegant and very clean), the comfort of the bed, the courtyard, the location and the energy: relaxed and personal with an arty atmosphere. The building is privately owned by one family and run by another - for the last 27 years. There is an art exhibition on the ground floor each month, and film, culture and literature events in the hotel, too. Very reasonably priced 180€ for two per night with breakfast. A special mention must be made for the extremely helpful, friendly, enthusiastic and attentive manager. Vielen Dank für alles!

(Only tweaks I would suggest are one kind of gluten free bread and better coffee and hot chocolate at breakfast!)
