Excellent location, testful yet restrained decor with each room having a special theme (i stay in organ room), helpful and efficient owner who speaks very good English. Good breakfast.
Simply, look no further!
A little bit difficult to find at first; just walk behind the Rathous and ask local people if needed.

Wonderful little place

We toured all around Germany and this was our favourite place to stay. It's a beautifully designed and finished 'pension' with the feeling of a boutique hotel. Our room was large and comfortable and amazing value for money - it was the cheapest and the largest room of any that we stayed in. Everything was so clean and well considered. The chap who runs the place is very pleasant and attentive. The little breakfast room was lovely and the breakfast selection perfect. It's perfectly located to explore the pretty streets of Naumburg.

A beautiful little place

We came across 'Typisch Naumburg' at booking.com where it gets excellent ratings. These, we found, were absolutely justified. There is no better choice if you want to spend a night or two in Naumburg/Saale. 

Location: You can get there by car (and there is an enclosed carpark), but it is right around the corner from the pedestrian zone. This means that all the major sights can be reached on foot within a few minutes. One major sight, the Naumburger Dom, is about a five to ten minute walk from the hotel. 

The hotel (even though it is called 'Pension'): It is located in an old building, dating back to the 17th century. It has been seriously renovated in 2010, so you can expect up-to-date and comfortable rooms.

The rooms: There are only 7 or 8 of them. They are 'themed rooms' which is a very nice idea. And they offer everything you might be looking for, are very comfortable, cosy and very clean.

The breakfast: It offers everything you can expect. The food is fresh and plentiful. What more could you want?

The service: The hosts are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. You get all the information you want and more. - There is a fridge in the breakfast room which offers drinks 24 hours a day (on an honor basis: you just enter your name and what you took if you need something).

Anything negative: There is no elevator, so you might have to climb a couple of stairs, but the friendly owner carries your bags, so that should not be a problem. (And yes, the wifi-signal is quite weak.)

A Gem

If you want to explore mediaeval Germany why not take an ICE train from Berlin's Hauptbahnhof train station to Wittenberg for a few hours where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses, and then continue on to Naumburg (Saale), Germany for an overnight pampered stay in a remarkable Pension.  Don't let the name "pension" fool you.  Pension Typisch is set in a 400 year old house that was renovated around 2010 with all the modern conveniences you can think of-- heated bathroom floor, motion-sensor lights in the kitchenette, WiFi, and too many more things to mention.  It is only 1-2 minutes from the historic town square and about 5 minutes from Naumburg Cathedral, one of the most remarkable Romanesque / Gothic Cathedrals in Germany.   You will find a candy on your pillow when you arrive.  The room I had was the ground floor room, which I loved.  Continental breakfast consists of a wonderful selection of food-- fresh bakery bread, a boiled egg if you ask for one, yogurt, cheese, summer sausage, bananas, cereals, and much more to choose from.  If the weather is nice, you can sit in the small private courtyard garden for breakfast.  Bottom line:  you will feel pampered and glad you selected Pension Typisch in Naumburg for a special treat on your travels to Germany!  One note:  there are 2 Naumburgs in Germany.  This Naumburg is located in Saxony-Anhalt, about a 3 to 4 hour train ride SW of Berlin.  The train likes to make a "backwards" side tour to Leipzig, so don't be surprised!
