Very friendly guests, good service and helpful hiking tips, family atmosphere. The hotel is highly recommended, the food is a dream. For travelers without a car, it is easy to reach by bus, which also reaches remote hiking destinations. We are happy to come back!

Very relaxed holiday, beautiful panoramic view and excellent food

The location is excellent. Since I haven't stayed here, but have only eaten, I can't give details about the quality of the rooms. The owners of the hotel are very sympathetic and give good tips.

Mountain garden with beautiful terrace and wonderful views

Once and never again. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the supposedly great food, since no service was ever seen. Although she often let herself be seen and passed by, she ran. She didn't respond to hand signals. Maybe you shouldn't work with blind staff in service! But for that she kept watching the hotel guests. They were being hanged and cared for, getting food and drink. The rest had to look stupid. We finally drove on, without drinks or food, and landed in a very nice inn with flawless service.

Service not possible

It's been a great weekend meeting some really nice guests and they're happy to come back. Breakfast was top of everything your heart desired.

Very nice location good food with very good service

We have just returned from a wonderful week walking and exploring the Bayerischer Wald National Park, staying at Berggasthof Lusen. 
We visited in September and had warm sunny weather for the duration, eating outside on the terrace every evening. 

The room was spacious, very clean and the beds supportive. 
There are loads of walks right from the hotel, but modern local busses are frequent, should you wish to walk further afield. 

The food was nice.
Buffet breakfast with lots of choice and evening meals were filling and tasty. 

Wi-Fi was fine for watching video / web browsing. 
Hotel parking is off the road and safe. 

Our hosts were welcoming and some spoke English. They helped us with planning walks and days out. Everyone was happy to help. 

Very enjoyable and would return again.

Special mention to little dogs Gina and Suara who are also very friendly and made out stay even more pleasant with their happy wagging tails :)

Comfortable and relaxing walking break

Very cozy atmosphere in the restaurant and on the terrace. We experienced stunning sunsets. Elvira welcomed us very warmly. The food is traditionally large portions and very tasty. You can start beautiful tours right from the house or get to other points well by bus. We'll definitely be back.

A wonderful vacation

Elvira and her team are just a bomb. The food on offer was always very tasty and in sufficient quantity on the plate. For me as a housekeeper, there was a special service without request, for breakfast my buns were already cut, slices and deer pastries were already cut when served into mouth-feeding pieces. I've never experienced this in any restaurant or hotel. I felt embraced and enjoyed it. Rooms and bathrooms were maintained every day and were always clean. The view from the terrace was gigantic. I can watch your sunny sunsets with a delicious lemonade of Elvira or with a beer. I could make two unconscious sensations of Elvira's sunshine, because I've just been able to let you and my team enjoy it for a long time, and I can't feel anything positive about Elvira's backyard.

We wanted to go to the mountain inn for dinner.The sunset from up there was crazy.We can't really understand the positive reviews.The inn made a rather uncaring impression on us.We didn't want to eat anything here.

Wonderful View

Since I gave a very bad review at the end of April this year that unfortunately leads back to an error is happening on a too fast typing mode of my cell phone I just want to let everyone know that the stay in the inn was very nice

Hotel very well located in the Bavarian Forest National Park. Very smiling and welcoming staff and staff. Sunny location. The rooms are simple but clean, some have a nice balcony. Excellent price ratio. Very pleasant lunch and full evening meal. Ideal for forest walks and the animal vision park (bears, wolves, lynx) photographers prepare your cameras.
