We have been visiting this hotel for very many years since our children were quite young, they now have children of their own.  The hotel is by the Mosel river not too far from Koblenz, our rooms have always been very clean and comfortable.  The breakfast buffet is typically German, with cold meats, rolls, etc.  We have enjoyed many evenings, either sitting outside or inside, over a meal of Wiener schnitzel and their own Bacchus wine while watching the barges and other ships passing on the river and trains passing on the track on the far river bank.  The hotel has its own butchers and vintners and we always bring home a few bottles of Bacchus.  The owners and staff are always very welcoming and helpful. We will continue to visit this hotel in the future, it is our favourite hotel in Germany.

We love this hotel by the Mosel river

Weary travellers were crossing a very high bridge and looking over the side at the valley below, decided that a bed for the night by the river was a good idea. We entered the Mosel Valley and what a wonderful surprise, the vines on the steep slopes were incredible, the water a remarkable colour and clarity and the whole area extremely beautiful. Several accomodations were closed being September, however Krone welcomed us with open arms. The landlady explained that all but one of the rooms were full but there was a place, which she wasn't to happy about because of its state, she offered an inspection and a discount and the exhausted couple were placated. At this point it would not be correct to criticise the room in any way only to state that the other parts of the hotel were of such a standard that I would almost guarantee a good night to all. The food was excellent and the evening peaceful followed by a hearty breakfast and many thanks to our charming hostess.

Falling from the Clouds

We had the lunch time special here which was good value but nothing outstanding.  The restaurant  also runs a butchers so we planned to return one evening to try the main menu as we expect the meat cuts should be good, but the waiter tried to short change us by 10 euros so we won't be going back again.

Lovely location but watch your change

The rooms were very simply done, but nice sized for Europe. Room was clean and comfortable...bathroom is very small.  Small balcony with nice view of Moselle River which is in front of the gasthaus. Breakfast was very good! Had dinner twice at on site restaurant as well....the food was excellent. Central location for traveling to towns up and down the Moselle River. I would stay there again in the future!

Nice hotel!

If you have never visited real German Gasthaus you have missed a lot. This is good example of it, friedly staff, good food and beer, nice countryside location with reasonable price.
Location is close to several Mosel atractions and beautiful Koblenz, eventough this is not in optimal spot for views.
