We spent the last eight days of our vacation here. And we are very satisfied. It is a quiet house. We had a room that was already renovated and suitable for our dog. I would like to emphasize the staff. Very pleasant, diligent and tidy. Our room was always tip top. You could sit well in the garden at night and enjoy the forest atmosphere at a good meal. We had a lot of fun and he thanked us very well. Many.

Finishing a good vacation

All in all, a nice hotel in a very quiet forest setting. The way to the center is easy for people without secret restrictions to handle (about 15 minutes), with walking disability a little more difficult since it is on the mountain and none of the mountain tracks keeps it in the way unfortunately. This is very unfortunate. The house is still a little GDR-ventilated, but clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and present, the breakfast is very rich and good. Also the dining at the restaurant was good, simple but quite good. You sit in the courtyard. Unfortunately there is a lack of children's right facility, a very old playground outside the view, no playground in the restaurant, no table tennis courts etc. This is very unfortunate. It was very nice for the children to find it in the evening, but it was recommended for all the evening.

Nice hotel, recommended

On our multi-day hiking tour we were only guests for one night and very satisfied. Despite the Corona conditions, we felt comfortable. The hotel has some GDR charm, is clean and the service is right. The food was very tasty and the breakfast buffet was also varied and versatile.

It's a great hotel.

During the holidays, the establishment was mostly still modest in the GDR. There were several small gaps, but efforts were made to eliminate them. It was a little difficult to understand the cellar, because they did not speak German well. For the number of guests during the dinner, there was not enough waitress. So there was nothing to complain about from my side. What really annoyed us was that one holiday everything was changed, a second group of travelers joined and a family of eggs took place. And I had no room with my partner. So the host had taken care of himself.

No one.

The Oybin area is beautiful. It is an ideal starting point for hikers. The hotel is partially decommissioned. A whole part of the building is locked. The rooms are very easy to set up. There is no fountain in the bathroom. The floor bears the traces of many liquids. The beds, on the other hand, are good. The breakfast is very easy. You can ask the staff and remind them that the egg or butter or the seeds must be refilled again. The service is effortless, but not yet reaching the maximum performance - not even the average. If you want to drink something in the evening (about 21:00) you should go to the place immediately. In the evening there is nothing left in the restaurant. Overall, the price does not match what you expect. I will not be sure to stay overnight in this hotel.

Paying too much for so little service and ambience

The room is clean, the shower is dirty, and the shower head is torn off. The house has the charm of the 1970s. The phone rings a short time at night, which interferes with the guest's sleep. When the staff responds the next morning, they think that this is a malfunction of the telephone system affecting several rooms. You pull the phone cable out of the phone, but you can plug it back in when you leave.

Quiet location for the uninvited guest

The hotel is actually very quietly situated on the edge of the forest, but you should ask in advance whether you can expect music parties that last until the early hours of the morning, including very loud. The rooms are simple. It may be that neither the internet access nor the cell phone in the room are working and that the reception is overwhelmed with troubleshooting...

Well, I mean...

The hotel is quietly located on the outskirts of the town, about 1 km from the town centre. The house was probably renovated in the 1990s and also has this stand (until a new flat-screen and free WLAN). There is no lift in the cottage, if you have to drag the suitcases up to the 2nd floor you will already be sweating, unfortunately we were not offered any help. Rooms are somewhat accommodated but clean. Breakfast buffet is good, suitable for the hotel category.

Quiet location

Very clean. The owner is very helpful getting suitcases to the rooms and making us feel welcome. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and then the party began. We danced and socialized with other guests although we spoke no German and they spoke little English but we shared a great evening. The staff are helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit!

Haus Hubertus

I have just returned from spending 11 nights at Haus Hubertus in Oybin, near Zittau, Germany. This is a delightful ex-hunting lodge where the rooms are spacious (by European standards) - especially for a single person, as i was. It is nestled at the top end of the village of Oybin with views onto the surrounding forests. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming (though no English is spoken - but good will and sign language and a few words of each other's languiage seemed to work wonders). It is amazingly good value and i really can't fault it for the price. Don't go if you expect flat-screen TVs and large marble bathrooms - but then you'd be paying four times the price. Do go if you want to feel welcomed and looked after in a spotlessly clean environment with comfortable beds, wonderful downy pillows and a sense of family & trustworthy staff. Dining is perfectly acceptable (lots of schnitzels) in an agreeable atmosphere - again, don't expect haute cuisine, but then you're not paying for haute cuisine. Thoroughly recommended!
