But it was only a matter of time before we got a table for a Saturday night. In good weather, we sat on the terrace looking out into the garden. We felt the warmest welcome and the kindness of the whole team all night long. We chose the menus with wine and were not disappointed. The food was mega delicious, whether fish or meat on the spot. Whoever wants to experience a special evening is right here. We'll be back.

Very high level of food

After many praiseworthy references to this restaurant, I wanted to bring guests to a special occasion here. But after looking at the menu, I forgot about it. It's probably not possible or necessary that there are two dishes with gingerbread. For gingerbread growers, gingerbread is forced to feed, and you get food stuffed around your neck with a big joke, and they're forced to swallow, so it's a terrible animal cruelty. I'm never going to spend money that goes to animal cruelty.

We came in after an event in the deer, hungry and thirsty. Although the place was poorly occupied on a Tuesday, it took quite a while for us to get something to drink. As a vegetarian, the card was too clear for me. In need, I settled for a soup of asparagus and some dried vegetables, which finally came after more than an hour of waiting. The vegetables were super delicious, but unfortunately the soup was much too salty to my liking. My husband's wishes were even conditionally met, although he ordered the fillet medium, it was English, but the quality was excellent.

Waiting Was Conditionally Rewarded

We were again with friends at the country guesthouse Hirsch in Remchingen. The cozy rooms invite us to stay and so it was quite late after a successful meal with excellent service. Those who want to indulge in relaxed and upscale gastronomy are absolutely right here. We are already looking forward to warmer evenings, which you can enjoy on the terrace or in the farmyard. We are happy to come back.

An Evening of Gastric Joy

A few years ago I was here more often and this time I really had to leave a review here. I was very warmly welcomed. After a little chatter, I went up to the second floor to room 27. That's in the back with a view of the neighbors' gardens. The room was renovated. A wall with a great photo wallpaper and the rest was neutral. Tasteful. The bathroom hasn't been renovated yet. You can see that it's been years, but it was top clean. Very warmly welcomed. The room had no carpet floor anymore, but laminate. The mattress was nice.

We've been wanting to go back to this inn for a long time, but the fact that we're going to experience this kind of culinary fireworks doesn't mean that we're not expecting a sensational apple celery soup with a fried blood sausage, toasted toast with spatula, and for dessert a traditional black forest is no better!

Sensational food

A friendly scope by the chef, a pretty colourful setting and a menu that gives hope. The daily menu for this price is more than fair---and quality tip top. The smoking essence is doing well with a nice deposit and a strong brew. The noble fish with market vegetables, a beurre blanc---a main dish that tastes more--the crowd is completely sufficient. The octenoblasts in wonderful so, of course with homemade spices, also with a snack. Fresh calf liver classic---not a varied experiment, but handmade in order. Of course----- as at the table the dessert is presented in full glass.

Expected and held in high regard

Our room, at the back of the hotel, was quiet, and had a pleasant outlook; but it was very dated, and the facilities, particularly the bathroom, were pretty basic. The corridor was very jaded.

This is a shame, because the bar and restaurant aspects of the hotel are fine - it is a characterful building, and there are a couple of bar/dining areas, plus a pretty and spacious restaurant at the rear with a terrace overlooking the family garden. The food was good and the menu extensive, and breakfast also was good, and constantly replenished.

There is good off-street parking, but no wi-fi.

Lodging so-so - restaurant much better

Nice little hotel in the centre of Remchingen about 15 km from Karlsruhe. The rooms are clean and sufficiently equipped. The hotel restaurant is nice and cosy. The menu is filled with local-regional dishes and are worth the try.

Zum Hirsch

We stopped at Zum Hirsch twice on our way from Italy to the Netherlands and both times we truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel rooms are simple , but very comfortable and clean.
The real treat though comes from the kitchen!  The restaurant offers amazing dishes,  mostly prepared with local products and vegetables and herbs from the hotel's garden.
Prices are very reasonable and the wine list offers an ample choice of excellent German wines.
During our last visit we had dinner inside, but last year we enjoyed our meal " al fresco", overlooking the garden and, yes, the herb patches!
