A very nice place and a lovely host. Our room was small but quiet, clean and functional. Breakfast buffet was made into ‘serve-to-table’ due to COVID restrictions. This worked very well and our host was attentive and helpful and would refill everything on request.

Quiet, clean and functional

When I arrived the owner told me there was a problem with room, so he had arranged for me to stay down the street. So I got a room that had an outside bathroom, and it was quite dated at best. If you’ve ever stayed in an Eastern European hotel with the cheap beds built into the floor, this was the equivalent. When I returned later I noticed there was a plaque next to the door that said schmoelzer. So I assumed he owned this building. So it sure looked to me like I paid for a decent room and got moved to this POS for an unknown reason. Anyway you look at it, something didn’t add up. Just paid my bill and hit the road.

Not what I expected

Christian was very friendly, attentive and informative.  He helped to make our good stay, a great stay!  He did a great job with checking us  in, taking us to our room, serving breakfast, giving us restaurant suggestions, etc.  The room was excellent and very clean.  Comfortable beds.  Breakfast was great!  Fantastic location.

Very Welcoming & Courteous Host

Pros: The room is comfy. The hotel is very close to the center. Definitely recommend to anyone travel here especially with children!

Cons: no elevator... be prepared to walk 4 floor if you stay in the family room :)

Great stay for family

My wife and I stayed four days. It is perfectly located within easy walking distance of everything in the old city, and just 50m from the wall and public parking.

The owner (Kristian) and staff were helpful and pleasant, always on call through their smartphones (even the doorbell rings on their phones). The rooms are quaint, not lavish, but plenty good enough—and great value for the price.

Breakfast was better than average; including eggs, cheese, yogurt, teas, coffee, breads.

We would certainly go stay there again.

Good value for money in center of old city with very helpful and pleasant owner/staff.

A quiet pension with a nice bright room - beer vending machine! Offered a great breakfast. Parking close by in a nearby lot. All the town is just steps away. Christian was a pleasant and helpful host. Great value! Cash only.
