A lovely small hotel, well equipped and very clean: me and my wife stayed there at the beginning of December for one night and the room was perfect.

It is located in a charming area close to Rothenburg: the ancient city can be reached in 15 min walking.
Very warm welcome from the owner and excellent breakfast. A place I would definitely recommend.

A good experience

We stayed at Pension Fuchsmuehle for two nights and were amazed at its beautiful atmosphere and surrounds. The Pension is located outside of town, in a scenic and quiet site beside the river. Our host was attentive and friendly, the Pension itself was comfortable and reminded us of our home. We ate breakfast at the Pension both mornings of our stay and were immensely satisfied. I hope to return soon. 

Beautiful accomodation

This amazing pension, complete with functioning waterwheel was a wonderful place to stay for two nights- especially with a light dusting of snow on our second evening / day. We are backpacking so walked from the train station with our packs, about a 30 minute walk, 15 from the edge of the town walls. The track is steep and clearly not for everyone, though if you are traveling by car there is no problem and parking is available on site. That being said, what a delightful setting for a amazing place to stay. We had an upstairs room (again not for those with heavy suitcases) that was spacious, warm and cosy and we were provided with everything we needed - comfy beds, a great shower and towels, a sitting area with television and wifi access that worked well. We opted to have breakfast at the pension both mornings which had a great selection that satisfied the four of us. We did catch a cab home in the evening as it was dark and snowing, but it is close and so not a big expense. Our hosts were lovely and accommodating, and spoke English. We would love to return some time.

Something out of a fairytale

At first we were disappointed that this pension was so far out of town, but we very quickly had our minds changed.  It’s quiet, warm & comfortable Heidi & Alex gave us a really warm welcome and as my husband had been very ill the night before they were most accommodating.  
There is a lounge for guests, and tea & coffee to be had at any time.  Also there’s an honesty bar.
There is a lovely water paddle/wheel which makes s a certain amount of electricity, it gets turned off at night so as not to disturb the guests.  Parking on site.
Breakfast was very good.  Check out the Mayor of Rothenburg’s house just a few meters away!

Fairytale

Pleasant rooms in a building nicely located on the edge of the town which is a short walk away. Rooms are spacious and nicely equipped although the single beds are too small. Good breakfast choice and pleasant staff.

Well Located

We (2 adults, 2 small children) had an incredible stay (2 nights) at Pension Fuchsmühle this week.  We were fortunate to get a quadruple room (8, top floor) at the last minute, realizing we wanted to have a more relaxing, in nature experience outside of the old town walls of Rothenburg.  We were traveling with two young children in the heat and decided Pension Fuchsmühle would be perfect for what we were looking for.  Our stay far exceeded our expectations; it is a picture perfect, storybook type of place; less than 10 minutes by car, up the hill to Rothenburg (P5 is the closest parking lot to visit the old town).  The farm breakfast each morning was fresh and healthy and we appreciated how incredibly accommodating Heidi and her workers were for our family.  High chairs, children’s dishes all ready for us each morning; they went above and beyond to make our stay special.  We enjoyed snack time and coffee in the sitting room too...very comfortable and friendly place.  The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and refreshing to be in nature and near the river.  I would highly recommend a stay at Pension Fuchsmühle if you are considering a stay near Rothenburg!

Hidden gem in Rothenburg 

A quiet guesthouse situated outside Rothenburg Town.

Staffs are friendly and check-in/out are efficient. Room is spotless clean. Comfortable for 2 persons.

Tv has alot of channels but not many in English. 

Though the guesthouse is not far from the town, it is more suitable for guests with vehicles. For those without, you will need to climb the hill through the forest to go into the town. It can be an intense climb when carrying luggages. 

Overall, we enjoy the quiet moment staying in this guesthouse. 



Lovely Guesthouse outside Rothenburg Town

Great people, easygoing, spotlessly clean. The healthy good food as well as the French press at breakfast set this spot apart. We appreciated the great WiFi. We arrived and were lead to a double room and did not feel we inconvenienced the hostess when we pointed out we booked two twins. Most importantly the idyllic surroundings gave us the bug to go out and explore a little. We arrived a little late so we didn’t walk into town for dinner, but we totally would if we come back. This would be a great spot for romance/couples, but even as friends we knew it was a place we’d love to visit when in the spring/summer when everything comes to life.
