We were at the new owner's dining room on May 12th, four adults and two children. On a short vacation, it's always hard to find a vegetarian place, because a recommendation came to this place. Only vegetarian and vegan dishes, 8-10 on the map, the food and service were excellent. We hope this place has a long history, because even in a big city you have to look for that long!

Negatives:
This is a bit personal, but my partner and I found both dinners we had at the hotel way too salty. (We had soup, schnitzels, cordon bleus and fries..... and we're no strangers eating these dishes) Salt can perfectly be applied to a dish later, so it's a recommendation from our side to lessen it a bit in the future. =)  The food itself was of fine quality, so it's only the amount of salt applied during cooking that bothered us. 

To nitpick: the Wi-Fi signal could use better coverage. Even with Europe having shared mobile data at this point, the hotel is so close to the border a phone will switch between Austria/German networks every once in a while. Good Wi-Fi can mitigate this issue, so I recommend adding extra access-points to the building =)
 
Positives:
The hotel-hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, which made us feel really welcome during our stay. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfy. The hotel itself is conveniently close to the border to Austria, so one can easily visit Salzburg, Berchtesgaden, etc. The breakfast was simple, but good. Overall a great place to stay! =)

Great hosts and a decent stay!

We stayed there for two nights, breakfast was very good and the host was very friendly, the rooms were clean and the price was perfectly fine, but we were not exactly welcomed on arrival.

Short vacation

We were at the Snitzel Day in the Neuwirt Guesthouse. We had booked a week in advance for Schnitzel. Now we were quite clear that a Schnitzel with a 7.50 side dish was not going to be one of the top dishes on this plan, but we were not very friendly and were brought to our table with little joy (and that's nicely expressed). After the question about the drinks, the following question also came: Do you want to eat Schnitzel cake or do you need the other cake? We decided to serve Schnitzel. Now we were quite clear that a Schnitzel with a 7.50 side dish is not going to be one of the top dishes on this plan, but we proved that we can enjoy some of the best quality of the dishes. When we found this Schnitzel, we were very happy to try the best of the standard desserts, but when we found this, we could not find the best of the sweet potatoes on the floor of the table.

Very disappointed

And so we took a detour... great dishes of meat and beer... we sat outdoors in a nice garden... the owner speaks English and he's both nice and professional, then we did a penny on the bench 😂

Stop the line on the highway

The hotel is very clean and there's everything that you need. It is very quiet, no noises can be heard from the street. The personnel is very helpful and nice (I asked to have a very early breakfast on a Sunday and they gave me room service. I would definitely go back.

Good price - quality ratio

We've been to the Christmas markets and stayed here, two adults with teenage children, and I highly recommend it for quality, price, warmth and cleanliness, and you're entirely a non-smoker, contrary to what we've been saying in other reviews, just a while ago.

Good price ratio services, cleanliness and kindness

We slept one night at the Salzburg Christmas market about 10km away.We were in 2 adults and a little girl, when we arrived we were told to find the baby's cot in the room without asking, we had our own in the car.

Great and very kind.

Beware - this is a pension that still permits smoking in the rooms and as a result plan on everything you bring smelling like smoke - yuck!

That said, double room was very basic and in need of renovation but reasonably clean; bathroom was tiny and poorly ventilated.  Road noise was significant and disturbed sleep with windows open.

Breakfast was basic but tasty.

Host was not particularly friendly.

Overall, would not recommend.
