What a treat to stay at the Silberfelsen Hotel! We couldn't have wished for a more charming and comfortable place to stay, with equally charming hosts, Sabina and Sylvia.
Menzenschwand is a small hamlet tucked away in a lovely valley set among the beautiful hills and mountains of the Schwarzwald. Our room was perfect, with two comfortable beds, nice bathroom and plenty of space, opening onto a balcony. On the ground floor there is a separate bar and relaxation area where guests can relax and enjoy snacks and drinks. On the first floor is the dining room where a sumptuous breakfast is served daily, with every imaginable thing available, including scrambled eggs and real bacon but also lots of typical European breakfast goodies. We were staying with a group and we fortunate enough to also have our evening meals in the restaurant. Sabine and Sylvia did an amazing job and treated us like royalty. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

A wonderful home away from home!

We stayed here as a family for one night mid-June whilst visiting the Kolleg St. Blasien.
Sabina and Sylvia were wonderful hosts: although we were delayed in our arrival until 9:45 pm they were waiting and welcomed us as soon as we got out of the car and walked to the hotel entrance! Not only do they have a self-selection 'supermarket' of refreshments, but also a freezer containing ice cream for those moments of weakness!
Rooms were newly-decorated and comfortable; a peaceful terrace outside our room allowed us to unwind after our four-hour journey and enjoy the gentle noise of the river nearby. We had to be in St. Blasien on Saturday morning at 08:00am, and Sabina and Sylvia made an especial effort to give us an early breakfast at 07:15 instead of the usual 08:00. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh rolls salamis, cheeses, cereals, freshly-made confiture all served in such a friendly way.
Highly recommended!

Einfach Super!

Very nice hotel with just 18 rooms. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, a free safe and a free Wi-Fi connection. The Wi-Fi reception is good, but the uplink fails every now and then, but who cares: you're on vacation! 
The rooms do not have a mini bar, but there is a shared fridge on the groundfloor you can use. There are drinks, ice creams and chips for sale at normal prices.
The rooms are cleaned daily and look shiny.

The breakfast is perfect: lots of choice and all fresh! The staff is very friendly and make you really feel at home. 

If you stay for more than two nights you'll receive a Hochschwarzwald card that gives you free access to the swimming pool at the other side of the road. This card can be used for other sights in the surroundings as well.

Really a must go if you plan to stay in the surroundings!

Very good hotel and friendly staff

Unique hotel in quiet village. Sabina and Sylvia runs the place and take care for all your needs. From the first moment with the warm welcoming until you will live, you will get the feeling that you are in family hotel and they are willing to satisfy you. Well equipped place, very comfortable, clean ,and in great location. Free wifi, refrigerator, picnic room , parking and a lot of small things that make your staying enjoyable. We will definitely will come again, very recommended!!!

Exceptional!!!

This is a wonderful Hotel. Sylvia and Sabina were so accommodating taking the trouble to learn the names of all 8 people in our party and welcome us each morning. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms clean and tidy. There is a lovely little snug room where you can gather and have drinks at anytime using an honesty system. A real bonus was the Free Black Forest card which we used each day to visit the close by local swimming pool for outdoor and indoor swimming and the jacuzzi. We also had a free boat trip on Lake Titisee and could have had free bus rides and museum entrances. A fabulous bargain. Our friend Keith definitely wants to go again and so we. Great value.

Wunderbar

Stayed here two nights with friends and we all had a wonderful time.  Sabine and Sylvia are wonderful hosts and could not have been more friendly and helpful.  Our rooms were spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable beds, nicely equipped bathroom.  The breakfast was fantastic, big selection of food and so nicely presented, plus nice big cups for the tea and coffee!  Room downstairs for sitting around in the evening with games and books available, also big fridge at guests' disposal for storing any food.  With your stay you get a Black Forest card which entitles you to lots of freebies, including entrance and use of the incredible spa in the village where there is a lovely heated pool, saunas and treatment rooms.  Did some great walks.  Ate in two restaurants in the village, both very good.  A lovely spot, will definitely be back.  Thank you Sabine and Sylvia.
