Slept here one night. Both mattresses were sagging in the middle and gave us a backache. Pillows were simply not existant. The bathroom had a slanted ceiling, with a bathtub squeezed at the far end, which made it impossible to take a shower by standing normally. Not recommended.

Terrible

feeling like living on cloud nine - absolutely amazing and surprising hotel and extreme friendly staff:
+ fast and friendly check-in
+ totally refurbished building, everything extremly clean
+ very tasteful and elegant decor, furniture and equipment
+ very clean and spacious room and enough space to stay overnight comfortabel with wide beds together with our pets
+ spacious private car parking free of charge
+ rooms towards backside are quite quiet
+ lot of flowers and green areas around create a very peacful and relaxing athmosphere
+ interesting dinner menu with local and international food
+ huge selection of food for breakfast
+ dogs were very much welcome without by additional charging
+ near to the highway/ public railway (S-Bahn) opposite of the hotel, just across over the street
- no elevator available

I sleep there for one night...
The room was very cold even if I arrived there at the midle of the day but they know about the booking.
Becouse the next day I will must leave early in the morning I ask to the reception if I can eat for the lunch there and to pay the diference, considering I will not get to the breakfast, but it was paid. They don’t agreed ...
So... inauspicious...even the owner is an italian guy...
I understand that the restaurant is good but for this reason I do not eat there, for the lunch  I buy a sandwich to the near shop and for the dinner I was in Munich. If you treat bad the clients...you will loose they’r  money...

Disappointing. 

Room and bathroom were clean and the bed was alright.
The hotel is situated next to the suburban train so on one side you have a good connection - but on the other hand you can hear the train in the night/morning - so it's a little bit disturbing.
And my room was not really spacious.

Hotel is alright

Stayed at the hotel while visiting around the munich area. The hotel is located right next to the S bahn and is about a 30 minute ride into the city. Also, its a clean place with no frills but fairly good rate. there is an Italian restaurant located at the hotel. The food is ok but we wanted to eat at the gasthouses serving local food.

5 day stay

If you plan a somewhat leisurely visit to Munich and environs, Hohenschäftlarn is a good alternative to the city center: the hotel is located right next to the regional train (S-Bahn) station, but don't be afraid of noise during the night:  even with open windows our sleep was undisturbed.  A real attraction is the hotel's Italian restaurant "Il brigante" (which also has Bavarian beer on tap).  While the village around is pretty enough, the areas's major sight, the former monastic church of Schäftlarn (down in the Isar valley), can conveniently only be reached by car from Hohenschäftlarn-- unless you were willing to undertake a walk of c. 45 minutes each way.  It'd be well worth it, but perhaps, if you don't travel by car, the hotel can arrange a taxi for you.

Semi-idyllic lodging in Munich's southern environs on the suburban train line--with honest Italian cooking to boot)

It's the second time we stay at this hotel to visit Munich and we will surely come here again. The building is right in front of the train station, so it's possible to reach the centre of Munich in 30 minutes, and there are trains until late at night, so you don't need a car. Rooms are comfortable, cosy and well furnished, with great accuracy. The room and its bathroom are extremely clean and you can adjust the heating to reach "the perfect climate".
The staff is very very kind and nice and there's a plus: the building also hosts an excellent Italian restaurant, Il Brigante, where you can eat good pizzas and Italian food (I'm Italian and I really liked the food).
