In this way, it is extremely rare in the industry to have rooms fit in with the whole atmosphere, and the food and breakfast are also excellent.

Class stay with friends and motorcycles at the Sun Inn!

Stayed for two nights here. Location is on the old market square, so a really nice historical location in Schiltach. Unfortunately, there's no parking available for guests, and there's an annoying clock tower nearby which chimes not only every hour, but every quarter hour as well so make sure you bring ear plugs for when you sleep!

Check-in was a strange experience: there was no-one there to greet us with a plate of keys greeting us instead. Interior decor is simple German decor which is fine. Room overlooked the square (perhaps ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you want to avoid the clock tower) so nice views but it wasn't particularly big. The bed was a four-poster but the mattress was very thin and uncomfortable and so were the pillows. Bathroom was clean and fine, but again small. TV was labelled as 'modern' but didn't look it and it felt like half the channels didn't work. The exterior shutters also didn't seem to close properly which is fine in the summer but not sure about the winter. 

Breakfast was nice with a range of breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, pastries etc. Nothing extravagant but still nice. The hotel has a restaurant but advertised that they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so we couldn't book. However, the restaurant was open on the Tuesday when we were there so confusing. Thankfully, the hotel is within short walk of a number of restaurants and local amenities. The man I presumed to be the owner was very nice and friendly and spoke pretty good English which was a plus.

Putting this all into context, we paid 80-90 euros a night so I guess you get what you paid for. Overall, wouldn't recommend unless you want an inexpensive short stay in Schiltach (which itself is a very lovely town).

Great(ish) location, nice staff, average everything else

We stopped for a walk in the black forest... in Pesino it's really magical and the inn is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable with a touch of romance.

A nice hotel in a magical place

We are long-haulers and have visited hundreds of hotels and inns all over the world. We have rarely encountered such friendly, hospitable and helpful staff. The boss welcomed us in front of the house with a Welcome, you are probably my guests. Nicer and more personal one cannot say it. Afterwards the boss personally carried our suitcases upstairs to the room. We were staying in the flower room with the original facilities. The room, as in an old building, was not too large, but everything that is very convenient allows for a perfect stay. The whole facility was set up so neatly and neatly. Of course, we also enjoyed a nice reception at the hotel. We have been staying in the hotel for a long time, thanks for all the delicious breakfast and dining room, which we have been waiting for. We have been coming to the hotel for a long time with the brightest food and delicious dining room.

It's all true!

Arrived with no staff at the hotel. Keys left out, but fending for yourself.   No info on where to park. Explored and came back for food.

Both dishes cold - expecting much more from the hotel.

Really Disappointing

Charming building with very nice staff.  We had dinner at the restaurant and it was very good.  Breakfast was quite good too for such a small hotel.  The rooms were quiet and clean.  The furnishings were too large for the room which made it feel smaller than it was but overall was nice.

Excellent location overlooking the Marktplatz

Very nice guesthouse, historic building. Excellent location, also close to the free parking lot of the village. The view from the rooms is fabulous, the rooms overlook the main square or the mountains and the red roofs of Schiltach. Good breakfast, nice and clean rooms, very kind staff. We also had dinner two nights in a row and we ate very well. Excellent quality/price ratio.

It's beautiful!

The room, it didn't match any of the photos that appeared on the web where I booked and it was of a lower category, it wasn't bad, with a big bed that was quite comfortable, but it wasn't what I expected. Many flies in the room at our arrival, that yes, that Schiltach is a village, but for the price paid they could use some kind of product because they are very annoying. The bathroom is very small and somewhat dirty. In the morning, although I suppose it happens in all hotels, you wake up to the bell ringing. The air conditioning, although we knew it wasn't there, seems completely necessary. The best desay was the worst and the best pipe variety of our 10 days in the area. The location, for the staff and the convenience of locating in the parking spaces.

 Deception

Great food We ate three of us and everything was super delicious. Sour cream was moon. Three times fried and very conveniently best onion toast with the right melted onions.

I 'll tell you what.

Let's just say, the Germans don't shine in hospitality, so this is a rare and beautiful exception, not to mention the fantastic location, the delicious dinner, but most of all the smiles and warmth of the Mediterranean.
