The place was very roomy, more than enough space for 4 people.  Maybe 5 if someone slept on a sofa downstairs.  You'll need to drive a ways to find a grocery store (Lidl is probably closest) and the only nearby restaurant is at the resort, so just be prepared to do some driving for dining options.  Also, bring your own towels!  We weren't aware that these are the "self catering" units which are very bare-bones, and since we don't normally bring towels on vacation, we had to improvise on that first day which was pretty interesting. :)  Finally, make sure you arrange your breakfast the day/evening before - the room guide lists breakfast as a buffet, so we caught the poor hostess off guard when we showed up for breakfast and she didn't have one ready.  Otherwise the place was spacious and clean, and the staff was nice and helpful.  We were visiting family nearby so we didn't take advantage of the other features of the resort, but we had a lovely stay and the price was just right.

Clean & bare-bones place to stay in a quiet, woodsy area.

Visited this resort for one night. Family room was spacious, and breakfast served personally by the manager (!) was good basic level without vegetables. Parking lot was sufficient by size. The resort is located on top of a big hill or small mountain, on Sundays the dinner has to be eaten on the city centre of Stromberg, the main hotel has no services after 6pm on Sundays.

Worst experience ever ! Worst customer service
Upon my arrival late at night (hotel was informed), I broke my room key in the lock and the reception was closed ! I was stuck outside from 11pm in the freaking cold, (room not in the same reception building as reception) and nobody at the hotel would answer my call (the phone number was written on the door for "emergencies" and on their website) ! I had eventually to walk to another hotel for the night! 
BUT The worst part is that the Stromberg resort NEVER PAID ME BACK, saying that I never called them upon breaking my key and that all of this was my fault!  Really worst service, experience and no clue on how to insure guest are properly checked in ! 
I strongly DO NOT Recommend this hotel!

Worst experience & service ever

This is NOT the Stromberg Golf Resort (and Hotel) which is within a couple of mins and in another league. This is a site of a very large number of self catering units set in palatial grounds
and as usual in Germany each unit is of a very high standard and the lay out well thought out. We had a one bedroom unit with lounge/diner kitchenette - big big windows - patio doors. BUT for those cooler sunny days we had our own attached conservatory!! For us the dining/breakfast are (A very large swish looking building)  was just 100 mtrs away - some units and much further away. Good breakfast and for what we paid a bargain. Rhine Valley around 20 mins. Stromberg itself very very small - around 2 restaurants.

Hide away in the ills

We booked a house at Resort Stromberg and on our arrival were pleasantly surprised by its size with good size bedrooms, nice lounge area and two bathrooms plus a downstairs toilet. We only used the house as a base so didn't use the restaurant or bar area. The value for money was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending the resort.
