Visited here for a group reunion. Small guesthouse, run by a very friendly family. Basic and clean. Close to beautiful Black Forest hiking areas. Recommended for travelers who like to connect with the locals.

Small guesthouse, friendly and family-owned

We stayed here during our tour of Europe.  The hotel is in a good position above the town on a quiet street.  The rooms are comfortable and very clean.  Peter and his wife are perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome.  They also provided help on the local area and dealt with an administration error caused by Hotels.com very quickly for us.  I would certainly recommend staying here.

Lovely property and even lovelier hosts

This is a small family owned hotel about 4 km from Triberg. We stayed 2 nights and can’t say enough good things about the owners. They stayed up late beyond 5 PM as we were delayed in arriving due to a snowstorm . The rooms are cozy and the buffet breakfast quite adequate. There s no restaurant so we went To a local stube.  I would stay here again anytime! Very affordable price as well!

Amazing

Not a place for a heavy suitcase and a bad back as there are a number of stairs, but the reward is a view over the town and valley.  The rooms were older and dated but in good condition.  We liked the old style bathroom door that did not leak light.  There was a good selection of toiletries and vanity pack items which are unusual in German hotels.  Host was very friendly and accommodating.  We knew he liked the place he recommended for our dinner as he was there with some friends.
Breakfast was a carefully maintained affair.  The meat and cheese plates were fastidiously maintained to look good and be full of small quantities (less waste).  He brought hardboiled eggs warm from the kitchen and was clearly concerned about one’s contentment.
There was no fridge or kettle in the rooms.  The pillows were large new and fancy but they do not suit all sleep styles – we wished we had asked for traditional ones.
Probably the second best value of the number of hotels and guesthouses we stayed in.

An older hotel with a ski jump next door

This place is fantastic, I personally think it's the attention to detail that makes this place stand out from the rest, Peter and his wife are so welcoming and Peter is one of the nicest host I have ever had the pleasure to meet, there is 1 bad review on the hotel but don't be put off by it as the lady must have been having a very bad day or a nervous breakdown. 
We are definitely going back just to see this lovely couple and place.
FANTASTIC 

Fantastic place 

We spent 2 nights here on our way back to the uk. The owner is a very friendly and helpful chap. Both of the restaurants in town that he recommended were perfect. It's a long walk to the waterfall and I'd advise driving to it. 
The rooms are of a reasonably good size & beautifully decorated.. The bathroom is a bit small, especially when one's wife lays out a lorry load of toiletries! All aspects of the hotel are immaculately clean. The breakfast is very good & eggs are on offer if required. The view from the balcony is excellent, looking over the town and the Black Forest. All in all, an excellent stay & very good value.
