A short 3 night break with friends 23-26 Sept. We had booked the larger rooms (#1 and 3) and we were all most impressed by the size and position of the rooms - even more so given the price when comparing similar hotels in recent weeks. An excellent breakfast (5€ - how do they do it?). The TV was a mini problem with two hand remotes to be used, but once organised no problem thereafter. Room 3 has two balconies overlooking the park setting. Could be very enjoyable in summer evenings with suitable weather BUT they both need some time and work invested to clear them up....weeds growing knee high and moss over many of the floor stones. An hour or two with a high pressure water cleaner, as well as a pot of paint is desperately required before the balcony and windows become too far gone....and much more expensive to renovate. I was rather surprised by the state of the outside, given the excellence of the inside.
Two of the evenings we ate in the hotel restaurant. Limited choices, but excellent quality and at not excessive prices. We all left with satisfaction on both evenings. This was also helped by the excellent service for the young lady waitress (Nadine?). Quick, efficient, friendly, helpful and all done with just the right amount of humour....she deserves much credit for helping to make both evenings enjoyable. 
Our friends are already planning a return visit - they live only about 90 km away; we will certainly keep the hotel on our list of favourites and definitely use it again when we are in the area.
Well worth the visit.

A gem.

We arrived late afternoon on the Sunday, the reception was officially closed but we had rung ahead and someone was there to meet us and hand over our keys and the wifi code.

I had the top room in the rafters. It was much larger than most hotel rooms I've stayed in previously. The downside was the bath/shower had the roof slope over it. Even if you where under 5ft tall, you couldn't stand to have a shower. Of my group, 6 people, only 2 of us had this problem. The other rooms sounded great. A comfortable bed, 2 singles pushed together as is the standard I've noticed. 

The restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday so didn't eat in there until the Tuesday night. Great food and a nice atmosphere. It was very busy that night and we met some of the owners of local restaurants, ones we had been in the night before. 

Breakfast was continental with a good range of food. The coffee was very strong, woke me up with the smell alone! Think it was too much for some of my group. 

The hotel was situated at the top of a hill, a nice walk from the town centre. It had a small car park outside. 

Overall, a very nice hotel. It seemed quiet the week we where there, only our group and one or two others at breakfast. 

A pleasant weeks stay

We had a delightful dinner at this old hotel recently. Service was very good and the food was excellent. I might add the beer was cold and really hit the spot after a long day of touring the Black Forest.

Dinner at Villa Junghans

My wife and I just returned back home from our first trip to Germany.  We had the privilege to stay at Villa Junghans.  Our accommodations were very large and comfortable.  The rooms were very clean. The hotel is an historic landmark that is in beautiful condition.  The grounds are beautiful and provided a nice picturesque scene for afternoon walks. 

Every staff member went out of their way to make us feel comfortable.  They offer a plentiful breakfast with a large variety of food. Dinner in the restaurant offered food for all appetites.  My wife is a vegetarian and found plenty of items on the menu.

The Weisser's - The Hotel Owners/Management went above and beyond our expectations to ensure we enjoyed our stay in their hotel as well as in their country.  

We will return back to Villa Junghans next year when we visit Germany.

Superior Customer Service

We only had the pleasure of staying one night at the Villa Junghans, but wished for more time as soon as we arrived. The quaint, curvy street leading to it, the view of the ruins out on the hills, our large guestroom with decorated ceilings all made us wish we had more days and nights to enjoy everything. The town was cute and there were museums nearby. We walked the paths around the hotel in the morning and discovered what we believe were llamas living nearby. There were fountains and places to play along the paths, as well as beautiful flora and fauna. Our accommodations included a flat screen tv and modern shower and sink. The service was excellent too. Everybody was so nice. If you like walking, you'll especially like this hotel. It is on a hill and there are stairs to the guestrooms.
