Pretty hotel / Pěkný hotel 

A functional and efficient business hotel in the heart of Siegburg. Overlooking the main square, the hotel is in the heart of the city with all of the attended pluses and minuses. Five minute walk from the train station. Rooms are satisfactory for a business hotel, but are probably small and overly functional for a tourist destination. Staff are very attentive and the breakfast is above par.

A good business hotel in the heart of Siegburg

Very quite and nice hotel. The location of hotel is very good, it is located in the center of the marketplace. The food and the service were good. However, the space of the room is very small.  it is the smallest room ever.

Quite good for business trip

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in December, using it as a base for visiting friends, sightseeing and enjoying the Christmas Markets in the region. The location of this hotel is its big advantage, right in the market place with a Christmas market outside the front door. There are many shops both large and small within a few yards, and there are many bars, restaurants and coffee shops in the locality. It is within a 10 minute walk to the main railway station providing easy links to Bonn and Cologne.

The hotel is clean and tidy, well decorated, with friendly and helpful staff - essential when like us you do not speak any german! The breakfasts were enjoyable with a wide variety of items to choose from. The room that we had was spacious with a good sized en suite bathroom - a shower but no bath. We were on the 3rd floor with very good views over the market place with the monastery  and church for background - very picturesque.

The hotel does not pretend to be anything it is not. There are no tea making facilities in the room. The television has many channels but only a few english language choices. Hanging and drawer space is a little limited but we managed. There is no safe within the room. The very small lift can only take two people at a time, one person if luggage is also being carried. However, at 351 euros (about £300 or £75 per night) for two people staying bed and breakfast for 4 nights, this hotel was good value for money.

Please be aware that the bells of the local church sound (quite loudly) at 7.00am every morning. Also, the noise from the market can be a little intrusive if you are in your room during the evening, but on the other hand the aroma of woodsmoke and grilled meats was very appealing. There were a few late night revellers to be heard passing by, but nothing very rowdy. All in all, we would quite happily go back to the Hotel zum Stern, and look forward to using the same excellent location to sample the area during the summer.

The location is the big point

Nothing fancy, clean, good internet connection, friendly staff. Good location in middle of town, close to shops and bars.
Breakfast was good, lots of variety. Diner resaturants and a small local brewery in close vicinity
