I stayed at this hotel in August 2018 with a group of friends, 6 of us adults and 3 children (1, 5 and 10 y/o). From the beginning we loved the hotel. It was easy to find, located up the hill from the main road, on a hill surrounded by the woods. It has a lovely view of the Chiemsee. Most of the guests were family, and older couples and singles. Right next to the hotel is a open air church, a nunnery and a wonderful old (I think 17th century) catholic church dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The staff is really nice, polite, they somewhat speak English and we somewhat spoke German so we got along. The breakfast is wonderful, delicious, the room overlooking the lake. It has a lot of catholic iconography on the walls and in the halls of the hotel. 
Would definitely recommend to families, older couples and religious trips.

Lovely one night family stay

Had been here before for afternoon coffee on several occasions.  Had never stayed overnight or dinner.  Joyfully surprised by both the wonderful room, breakfast and dinner.  Awesome!  Will definitely return.

An amazingly beautiful quiet stay ... reasonably priced and fabulous food.

Downside...we booked on a monday,when the Hotel is closed.
Not only is the Hotel closed...so is the restaurant and you are in the middle of nowhere.
The key is in a safe,which you obtain with a code e-mailed the day before.You let yourself into an empty and slightly spooky Hotel....there is no one there.
We could not figure out how to connect to wifi....everything came up in German.
No one to ask.
No where else to walk for dining,we had to drive back into town on unlit country roads to find a place,and half of those were closed...because it was Monday!
I have never encountered a 'Closed' hotel before and wished i had known prior to the booking.
Absolutely delightful place,in a delightful spot.....but isolated is an understatement.

Strange encounter of the third kind

A short drive up the hill from Siegsdorf you come to the tiny little hamlet of Maria Eck. Beside the church and below the monastery lies this large restaurant and hotel. The views from the table are stunning. You look down to the beautiful Chiemsee and the mountains beyond. This charming Gasthof is certainly worth a detour. The service and food(traditional Bavarian) are both excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Beautiful location with stunning views of the Chiemsee

We visited Klostergasthof Maria Eck on the recommendation of our hotel. It is up in the hills above Bergen. The view from the dining room was outstanding. The food was good. The server was very underwhelming and inattentive. So I guess go for the location and food but not the service or hospitality.
