Stayed here for 4 nights in late June 2022 and found this hotel to be a real taste of Germany from its traditional if a little dated 1970’s or 80’s but comfortable bedrooms to the fantastic buffet breakfast each morning and the wonderful staff. Stayed here as a base for touring the area by car and from what I could tell there wasn’t much within walking distance but plenty of restaurants and shops a short drive from the hotel in the centre of Simmern. I was a little concerned about the lack of air-conditioning at the hotel especially when temperatures during my stay ranged from a low of 16C one day to over 40C on another day but once inside the hotel building it always seemed to be a comfortable temperature which I guess is testament to the energy efficient building techniques in Germany even for an older building. Each morning they put on what I thought was a very good breakfast buffet for the size of the hotel and I really enjoyed my breakfast each morning. Plenty of free parking at the hotel which was great as I really think you need a car if staying here to enjoy the surrounding areas including the Mosel and Rhine rivers. Would happily stay here again in the future.
