This is a small town which is not very touristy so if you are here you have very specific business to conduct, and you just want a normal hotel to return to. The Kreuz is clean with spacious, bright rooms which are very quiet. I heard no noise at all from my neighbours or from the hallway, and slept soundly throughout my week.  The restaurants of the town, as well as a pharmacy and some small shops are all within 300 metres of the Kreuz, and there are grocery stores perhaps 500 metres away.

Clean and quiet and very central to the traveller facilities in the town.

The building was built in the 16th century and has a lot of history. Unfortunately, my room had a lot of history too. Nothing outstandingly bad about it, but it was small (and I am used to small European hotel rooms), and the bathroom was very cramped. I was on the 5th floor (!) in a more-or-less attic room, with sloping walls (also with charming original ancient wooden beams in the walls and ceilings). There were no  light-blocking curtains or Rolladen over the windows, only a couple of sheer panels. The room heater did not work, but I only stayed there one night and I was warm under the duvet on the bed, so it wasn't worth complaining about. The restaurant was charmingly decorated in antique style, and the food was good, as was the breakfast. There was supposed to be WiFi (WLAN) in the room, but it didn't work in my room (maybe I was too high above the router!). There is ample parking. The room was quiet. The staff were friendly (no English spoken, as far as I know). If I found myself in Stetten a.k.M.again, I might look for a different hotel, but I might just go ahead and stay here again, but only for one night.
