I visit Stuttgart regularly, but everywhere I normally stay was 100% full.  Hotel Berg was near my destination and in my price bracket, so done.

It's a small, family-run place.  The desk is not staffed after 18:00, but they have a very clever system for getting you your key:  They send you a number which releases the key from an ATM-like device -- works fine.

I arrive about 22:00 and they had a reasonable "honor system" snack counter, with a nice selection of drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol).

Breakfast was fine too, but but there was only one person to handle the breakfast and the front desk, so you're not likely to get anything that is not already on the buffet.

Parking is a problem and somewhat complex, since you need to go into your room to get the key to open the garage:  There is no place to park while you get your key to park!

WiFi worked just fine, but there were no instructions, so you had to guess at the website you needed to login -- and remember, there is no one to ask if you can't figure it out -- answering 25 emails on my phone would not have made me very happy.

The room was clean, larger than I expected and very quiet -- all good things when you're traveling on business!

Long and short, I will stay there again, if my normal places are full, but it won't be replacing normal places.

Not the perfect business hotel, but it will do in a pinch!

Nice little hotel outside city centre.
I stayed there for three nights during the chirstmas market.
Location isn't problem because U-bahn station "Mineralbäder" is quite near the hotel.
Breakfast is good and is served in a little breakfast room.
Staff was very nice and friendly.

Peaceful hotel outside city centre

Located in a suburb of Stuttgart a few stops from the city centre, the Hotel Berg is a family-run one. The room was clean, warm, basic, though no wardrobe, just a small table.
Daily cleaning is only done on request and at an extra charge which was not specified at the time of confirmation. 
Because of the self check-in, it is not always easy to deal with the host and one feels a bit abandoned.
I would recommend it for one night and if you have no particular demands.

ok for a short stay

This property is clean, managed with enthusiasm, and the breakfast was also very good.  However, I ended up cutting short my stay there because the lack of AC made it hard for me to sleep.  Also, my teenage son was very frustrated with the unreliability of the W-Fi.

Good in many ways, but no AC, Wi-Fi problems

The Hotel Berg is located in a quiet area with a few restaurants and a tiny shop/bakery down the road. After a five minute walk you can reach the gorgeous Rosensteinpark or the Mineralbäder station. In a 15-20 minute walk you can reach the Wilhelma Zoo.
The rooms in the hotel have a good size (not too small), there is a TV, a wardrobe with a safe inside and a bathroom with a shower. In the mornings there is a breakfast buffet, which I would say has a good enough variety that everyone can find something to eat.
Overall I would recommend this hotel for short trips as a couple or solo, especially if you are looking for a place that isn't right in the city.

Good hotel, close to the Wilhelma Zoo

The service is very kind, rooms are clean and the breakfast is ok (they can maybe add some croissants, more seeds for joghurt and milk, but there were enough fruits, marmelades and salty things). Just one thing to take care if you have bug heavy luggage: no elevator and 3 floors...
