We were a couple of friends staying at this beautiful place for one night in wonderful weather in start august. We had a great day, booked three rooms with a lovely balcony with an epic main street view.

I was so stupid, that I forgot my favorite sunglasses at the hotel, which they returned by postal package to my private home adress in Denmark three weeks late. Thank you so much! Hugs or knuckle, you decide!

Awesome experience 

Great location on the main street and just a few minutes walk from the beach. Quiet clean and comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very good and varied breakfast buffet. Good value for money.

Clean and convenient 

We stayed at the Gutenberg for a week and found it to be a lovely little hotel located right in the heart of town. It is a little on the pricey side but service was fantastic as well as location. The rooms were also cosy and relatively decent sized for European standard with the basic amenities provided. We had a family room on the first floor, which had an additional ensuite room of 2 single beds. Breakfast was not included in our room rate but was it was a very reasonable fee and there was a wide spread of the usual cold cuts, breads, cereal, etc as well as eggs cooked to your choice. The staff were also very friendly and obliging to our requests. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again.

Cosy, comfortable, convenient!

Hotel is situated at best Location. Good Food around. rooms are ok and cozy but Hotel Needs renowation. Missed air conditioning / ceiling fan. Service and employees are at best. Very fast and pleasing Service and 4 star Rating is for them only not for the Hotel building.

Holiday fun

The hotel is located in the center of Westerland, on the main walk way. I was not aware of that, and I wouldn't have picked it if I knew before, as we were only there to play the golfcourse Budersand Sylt. It was difficult to find a parking spot, and several roads were blocked because they were walk ways. 
We were located at the top floor, quite a bit of stairs to get the luggage there.
The room was ok. Breakfast was fine.
Room was rather expensive I thought. Probably it's location in the center is the reason.

Expensive

I experienced a reasonably comfortable single room with good bedding, but there was only a very tiny bathroom housing the toilet and shower.   Wash basin was within the bedroom.  There was not a table or desk where one could write, but there was a comfortable chair in the room. Plenty of wardrobe space and a stand for luggage.  The lighting was  also good.   A very good breakfast was also  included in the price.  The reception staff were also friendly and helpful.   The position of the Hotel, right alongside the main pedestrian thoroughfare was a plus staying at the Gutenberg, and the beach and promenade only a couple of blocks away.  The railway station, about a 10 minute walk.
