What’s better at the end of the day than a nice place to relax, have a glass to toast with, and a good dinner? This is the place. While in an awkward location at the edge of town away from the main road, this is a great place. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but you can sit outside under a covered veranda with a grapevine trellises and enjoy the evening along a little creek and adjacent forested hill. 
The menu provides many main staple German options although the vegetarian dishes are limited but yummy. The wine list offers numerous options from local vineyards that grace the surrounding hills in the area. I opted for a classic Asbach and coke and had to laugh when the waitress told me that this choice shows my age - apparently it’s not a common drink anymore though I think it’s still fabulous. Speaking of the waitress- she was great. You can’t go wrong with this one. Off the beaten path but a hidden gem.

Hidden Gem

A nice hotel in a quiet setting. Located off the main road through the Mosel Valley, Hotel Dampfmühle avoids the traffic for a relaxing stay.  The rooms are very clean although a little dated.  The morning breakfast selection was limited but adequate. The best reason to stay at Hotel Dampfmühle is the charming hostess who make the place inviting. 

Quiet and relaxing.

This hotel is in a lovely setting approximately 1/3 mile from the town center, which makes it an easy walk to town. It used to be part of a wine making family and has a great old barn that is perfect for bicycle storage. The hotel itself is nothing fancy, but very clean with ample sized rooms! They also have a restaurant, although we did not eat dinner in, was quite busy when we returned from town around 9:30. They also have a very pretty outdoor patio attached to the restaurant as well as a built in pool available to guests during the warmer months. The cost for a large double room and breakfast for two was only $80 Euros! Quite a deal compared to the larger towns on the Mosel. The staff speak enough English to accommodate English speakers as well. I highly recommend this stop for comfort and affordability!

Simple and excellent!

This hotel has excellent service and very nice and clean rooms.  The staff speaks many languages including English and was very accommodating.  The breakfast was quite good and I enjoyed my stay.  Would recommend without hesitation for business, couples, or solo travel.  Would also be fine for some summer family stays.

Nice 4 Star in Village

Despite me booking the wrong night, the hostess gave me a room the following night and didn't make a fuss.
Drinks were good and the rooms clean and pleasant.
Our cycles were safely stored in an adjoining shed.
