Alte Villa 

My review of this little hotel is rather biased by the unexpected upgrade we got to their star room: which has a sort of second floor conservatory attached to it. This turned it from a small, quaint period hotel with limited frills, into something a bit special. If you want to treat yourself, then pay the extra for this room. The hotel is a bit of a schlep into Trier, but easy enough. Trier is really interesting, so you end up walking back to the hotel rather tired. There is no restaurant, so you need to find somewhere for an evening meal. Not a problem: we enjoyed several really interesting places quite nearby. There is a Netto across the street, which is surprisingly useful. The main road is a bit noisy from 7 in the morning, but it seems that everybody in Germany is up and doing something at that time so complaining won't get you anywhere. Oh yes, and they give out delicious sparkling Reisling free at breakfast. Always gets my vote...
