Do not eat at this resturant.  Bad service and even worse food. Schnitzel and fish, worse i ever tasted. Thick schnitzel and no-taste fish. Chips are undercooked. Horribel wine, beer ok. We did not manage to eat full portion.

Allocated a room which was not made up from previous customers. Assigned an upgrade.

Descent service, but this is a run down place. No business can run like this. Over and out. 
Old German style hotel, probably bankrupt earlier, taken over by optimists with some solid financial backbone?
Hard to figure any future for this place.

Unfortunately my husband doesn’t speak German and during the check-in process the manager was quite impatient with him started shouting in German until I arrived and translated for him. Later there was a room mixup (totally our fault) and the manager grew so frustrated with us that he started screaming like a deranged lunatic. He was astonishingly rude, scolding like we were naughty children instead of paying customers. He finally realized he went too far and toned it down but the damage was already done.  If we hadn’t already paid through our booking app, we would have immediately left and gone somewhere else. 
 The room itself was fine, outdated but clean. I slept in the single bed which was firm and comfortable while my husband slept in the double bed which, he says, has a huge crater in the mattress. There is very little sound proofing between the rooms so you can hear *everything* which can get a little awkward. Our room had a nice view of the bridge coming into town. 
There was no soap or shampoo provided for the shower, and of course no drinking water or coffee/tea available in the room. Breakfast was very basic—we were given a basket of rolls, a plate of cold cuts, and egg, and one small glass of orange juice. The breakfast bar only had jam, butter, and yogurt. 
Because of the manager’s rude behavior I absolutely cannot recommend a stay in this hotel.

Don’t  stay here

Actually a really nice location, with pretty chaotic overall organisation.
We had half board and the food was really really the menu was not clear in advance and changed between the two waiters statements (what we received was a third option that nobody had mentioned....).
Rooms are fine, some renovation work might help here and there, but overall quite alright.


Get your act together 

Unfortunately this hotel was booked as part of a package and beforehand I read that the reviews were poor.So I tried to change the booking but was persuaded by the operator not to. The rooms were not comfotable,felt old. Entry to the shower was blocked by the toilet, but getting out was worse,acrobatics were called for. The food to be honest was edible but the servers abrupt and inhospitable. No lift and noone to lift cases to the second floor but myself.

If theres nowhere else in Trittenheim available then dont stay in Trittenheim.

This hotel is located in a small quiet town along the banks of the Mosel river. There are benches in front of the hotel, along the river where you can sit & watch the river boats go by.
The rooms are very large. They are basically suites with a separate spacious sitting room, and a very spacious bedroom.
The dining room serves good fare. I had a very good Schnitzel with pepper sauce while my travel companions had pasta, which they enjoyed..
A very good taste of old German hospitality in a small town setting. A very pleasant experience different from the typical hotel experience. Very relaxing, pleasant & gracious atmosphere that is not easily found nowadays.

Peaceful riverside location

We stayed at the Krone Riesling as part of a bike tour of the Mosel Valley.  The staff was very friendly and kind.  The rooms were clean and large - just a little out-dated - green toilet and shower and 1980's paint job and a 13 inch tv (not flat screen).  The hotel is well located right on the Mosel River and in the town of Trittenheim.  The breakfast was good.  The one big drawback for us - no wireless internet whatsoever and no computer area for guests to use.  But overall, this was a lovely little hotel in a sleepy little town and we enjoyed it.
