For the events in the Academy we always stay and use their hotelaccommodation.
All rooms are different , nice basic comfort, most 1 or 2 bedrooms,(separate beds,) as the Academy is a seminarcentre No Tv in the rooms.-Wifi possibility.

Okay, let's start with the rooms. Yes they are pretty frugal and small, but remember, the place belongs to the protestant church so the only luxury is a bible! Yet they are very clean und well maintained, and lately they added free wifi to some of them. 

Apart from the rooms however, this is the most stunning conference facility in Germany. It boasts a very functional, light and historic conference hall, a magnificent large garden right by the lake (yes, do bring your swimsuit in summer), a very romantic room for candlelight dinners (only if your groups is less than 30 people or so) plus a very tasty and fresh local cuisine. This year has been my fifth conference in Tutzing and I can saying that I am still thrilled by the garden and lakeside views as well as the overall atmosphere.

The staff is generally very friendly and helpful but do not expect this to be a five-star hotel service. Actually, it is not, in fact, you have to carry your bags yourself to the rooms and as there is no elevator in the chateau building, make sure you organize some help, if you or any of your guests require assistence. You can also rent the rooms as a private guest, but I am not so sure whether I would like to spend my holiday in a place that caters mostly ro conferences and seminars.

Otherwise, both thumbs up!!



Truly stunning conference location!!!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during a conference.  The buildings are wonderful, and we enjoyed the start of the autumn colour changes in the vines covering many of the walls.  The Academy is set right beside the lake, in expansive grounds with views across to the mountains as the Austrian border, and we enjoyed exploring the scenery from boat.  A round trip of the southern part of the lake took 1 hr 45.  If you had all day it would be worth hopping off at some of the ports to explore other towns.
Tutzing is not the place to come if you want to shop, as there was a very limited range, but the architecture is lovely, and if you walk the lakeside path in a clockwise direction there are a number of beer gardens well worth a visit.
The accommodation was very simple, with towels and basic soap provided, and the one pillow each was not enough for us to be comfortable, but that aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and tranquil location.

Minimalist rooms but stunning location

I stayed here for work and I was fine. In the lake Starnberger, you'll see sailboats, families of ducks and birds play around blissfully on the edge of the garden of the villa. The quality of sleep is at maximum. The restaurant is not excellent, but for German standards, is not that bad.
