absolutely fantastic experience! 
The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything. 

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile. 

The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated.

we had the luck to stay in this hotel in a time when the weather showed its best side of summer, so we could explore the island by foot or with the bus. The location of the hotel is ideal: less than 2blocks away from a bus station where 2 of the 3 main bus lines of the island have a stop. And the west coast of the island with swimming strand just 5 min away. The ocean is visible from our room. In our first day we were able to walk along the coast until Kampen from our hotel with no problems of cars. We did think about getting a bike, but the high density of bikes packed in the 2 official bike paths plus the lack of REAL bike paths in the cities, discouraged us to do so. 
About the service: although we arrived at a later time as the reception working times, the owner of the hotel received us without complications and very friendly (we did warn them that we will be late). During our stay, all personnel were friendly and ready to help in any form. That was nice.
The w-lan option we could not use because we were located in the highest floor and the signal was weak, but I suppose it would be available if we go to the breakfast room. 
The breakfast had everything tha we needed: a good coffee and stuff to try some of the traditional fish salads that the "natives" eat around here. 
Close to the hotel there is a supermarket, so any "garbage" food for the day can be found comfortably in the area ;-) . 
Summary: this was a perfect hotel for us and those who don't want to be in closeness of parties and nocturnal lifestyle. The area is relaxed and still has the advantages of a small turistic city: restaurants, market, concerts, etc. We will use this hotel again if we come back to Sylt. 

The perfect place to start every day in the island

The staff was extremely positive when a guest was passing the reception or entering the breakfast room. They help organizing day trips or renting a bicycle - a good idea when staying a few days without a car. From the hotel it is only 200m to the dunes following the sea shore, on the top of the cliff you find some restaurants from the Gosch chain to the more classy fish restaurant.
In the other direction you find a bakery, post office and bus stop for a major line connecting the north & south of the Sylt island.
The rooms are clean and of robust design, uncomplicated but practical.
The bed in room 21 is a bit small - surprising as many Germans are tall people.
