I stayed here for a week in a ‘superior’ room which meant I had a bigger bed and a large balcony, aside from that it was very basic. The worst aspect being the air conditioning which simply didn’t work despite asking the owners to reduce the temperature (because it’s locked and you can’t adjust it yourself). 
There’s a small bathroom with shower.
Breakfast was very basic - 2 bread rolls with assorted ham slices cheese and tomatoes sometimes a fried or boiled egg, along with the expected orange and coffee. Location is central and it also has a restaurant serving mainly Italian style food (see separate review). 
There’s a small car park at the rear of the property.
For one or two days in a basic room at the lower price is probably ok but certainly not for a week.

We were looking for somewhere in the town that catered for vegetarians and found this little place almost by accident. The owner is a great character and full of fun. He also speaks some English which was very helpful. The wine comes in half litre carafes so you are not shown the bottle, but it is quite reasonably priced and not bad. Some choice of vegetarian food which is quite tasty.

just came here for a meal

We stayed at La Rustica for 3 nights whilst visiting the Brocken area and found the room to be a good size, fairly basic but very comfortable and cosy with friendly staff. Language was a slight problem but not their fault- we felt bad not being able to speak German! An extra pillow appeared after the first days clean, I had bulked up the 1 pillow with a blanket to make it higher for me, so that was nice.

We ate in the restaurant below 1 night and found the food to be very tasty (pizza), it was very convenient as it was freezing outside and so didn't want to venture out every night especially after being out in the cold all day.

It's a good price for such a central location and we'd stay here if visiting again.

Friendly place to stay

Only stayed here one night while driving across Germany.  A friendly and interesting Bed and Breakfast located right in the Wernigerode Oldtown.  Difficult, but not impossible, to drive to as you have to navigate old narrow one lane streets that were obviously not designed for today's cars.  The room was clean but very small and it was on the third floor with a treacherous winding staircase.  I found it quaint and interesting and would stay here again for the price.

Interesting and quaint for an overnight stay

My husband and I stayed for two nights in the La Rustica. Upon arrival you were made to feel welcome and we were helped with our luggage up to our room, we found the staff friendly, helpful and very polite, our room was clean and tidy, a good breakfast was provided and we ate in the restaurant on both nights and found the food to be excellent and so was the service. We would recommend this hotel,the location is very central, but if you have walking difficulties the stairs in the hotel could be a problem.

Positives , Clean , nice style to refurbishment , good food in evening and breakfast . location is in centre . Owner very helpful . Very good overall.

Issues to consider- difficult to find in centre in maze of old streets ! Car park small and busy. dont take any debit/credit cards which after a few nights means you need to allow to have quite a bit of cash to hand. The small windows had no blinds so our room became light  early .
